<p>jk…I love VA…Northern VA. It is actually a lot harder to get in if you are from NoVA as there are so many outstanding applicants…like 1/3 of TJ ends up there…besides in all other schools in Fairfax all the top students are applying. Same is true for Falls Church and other good school districts.</p>
<p>UVA can be pretty random at times, so I wouldn’t call it a safety. Someone from our school with 760/780 bunch of IBs and good GPA got rejected last year.</p>
