I believe 25k is maximum as well.
D20 got the $25,000 Trustee merit award. They handed her her acceptance at an open house for science majors when we went up the week before Thanksgiving. She is out of New England, so that may have helped. Financial aid counselor is saying 1st week of January we should hear about other potential aid. She thinks it’s too far (5 hours from Philly). We cast a wide net, not sure where she’ll land yet.
My daughter was accepted for art. She received a scholarship of 92K with an invitation to apply to the honors college.
Daughter accepted to nursing with $21k a year in merit money. Salve remains on the list but we are expecting a bit better financial offer from a school that she prefers. We shall see.
I applied 10/20/19 and still have not heard anything. Any thoughts as to why?
ulijuli, Are you sure you applied Early Action or Early Decision? If so, maybe you should get in touch with admissions.
Former salve student here. I was between UMass Amherst and Salve in 2018. Chose salve for the small school feel and for the location in Newport. Big mistake. I’ve never heard of someone not getting a scholarship to this school. They make you feel really special as an applicant but that all goes away once you get here. The classes are all easy and not challenging whatsoever. The professor are genuine and kind, but the students here are very cliquey and preppy. If you do not play a sport it will be hard to make friends, and to find activities to do. Would not recommend this school. All of my friends at salve considered transferring or did transfer after the first year. Sorry but I’m just being honest. I wish someone would have told me this when I applied.
That makes me feel better @Lagirl113 . Salve looked really interesting to me but it did not offer my major. I had already maxed out the Common App and didn’t feel like starting over again with Coalition.
Thanks for being honest - have been lowkey regretting not applying and now I’m glad I didn’t.
