Knows their target audience?
The target audience is the really smart and hard-working students they admitted , plus the many smart and hard-working students they didnât have enough room for
.
Correct
Same here ⊠the kids that got into ucla, ucd, ucsb, cal poly, UMich, UWisconskn ⊠also got into SDSU.
WowâŠ
I think you have to look at which public universities in CA he applied to. When you say âevery oneâ Iâm guessing (and this is generalizing, so apologies if I am wrong) he did not apply to UCM, UCR, CSUN, etc? Itâs frustrating when people say âwe canât get into our public schoolsâ when they only apply to a fraction of the public schools and all the ones with the lowest admit rates.
My D24 goes to a small school with about 100 seniors and we are in state but not local to San Diego. D24 (applied as kinesiology) got into SDSU in December as did two other classmates (one applied as biology, and the other as psychology; they donât think anyone else got in then or if they did they didnât bring it up) and well D24 was the only one of the three who applied to UCLA (as public health; not sure if BS or BA) and she did not get in. One other girl applied to UC Irvine and was rejected but was admitted to UCSD. I donât think there is any correlation to being admitted to SDSU in December and being admitted to UCLA other than in many cases it could be the same kids who apply.
Yes I do kind of agree with this. I mean even if a kid writes their own essay and uses their own experience if they pay someone to help their student write an essay then they are essentially paying for the essay, right?
We didnât do any of that and my D24 didnât even let me read her UC essays. She didnât get into UCLA and is still waiting to hear from UC Berkeley. She was admitted to USD, Santa Clara, and Loyola Marymount with her essays though. She was deferred from EA at USC though.
rejected for business⊠got rejected from uc davis, uc irvine, and uc santa barbara but waitlisted at ucla and uc san diego. hoping to get off the waitlist at this pointâŠ
Wishing you the best of luck!!
S24 just received post mail regarding acceptance to Honor College
Congratulations to him!!!
D24 accepted to Weber Honors. Sheâs excited and now has to decide between Weber and University of Arizona Honors. Any advice welcome. We are from N CA and U of A merit brings costs close to each other. Kinesiology at SDSU, Exercise Physiology at U of A.
My D17 went to U of A and LOVED it there! Congrats on the choices!
D24 just accepted into the honors college. Sheâs already committed to SDSU so this was icing on the cake! Weâre OOS (east coast) so sheâs ready for San Diego weather!
she wonât need a big coat but will need a big wallet⊠weâre likely local going east or mid west for school⊠so ready for this saga to be over⊠feel for the kids these days⊠thankful for the offers we have in handâŠ
Thank you so much for saying it was in post mail! I ran out to look in the mailbox to find an acceptance to Weber Honors College for D24.
D24 received it by email and we got the card in the mail as well. D was surprised she got in because she wrote the essays at the last minute and completed the application about 11 pm on 2/26 (the initial due date. She didnât think she was that smart (she says).
I am an alumni of the school but graduated in 1999. I am originally from Nor Cal as well (Sacramento area). Let me know if you have specific quesrions.
My D24 was also admitted as a kinesiology major and has been accepted to Weber Honors College.
D24 also accepted to Utah (with WUE scholarship), and Long Beach for kinesiology, and has gotten a nice 4 year merit award from Santa Clara (public health) so that award might bring it close to SDSU in costs.
Us too! First choice is Chapman, where we are waiting on a financial aid package. Acceptances at U of A/Franke and today Weber. The merit for U of A is our highest offer, and we are in-state, so still in the running. Any specifics on the honors experiences are appreciated! Good luck to you as well.
