@cswave Orientation sign up is May 10th I believe at 10am PST that is when they most likely will post them. First come first serve.
Our AP scores came completely off of the list for May and July. We sent the scores so that would clear the May but not the july since there are more being taken this year. Also the HS transcript changed slightly now. Ours says everything done for now.
If there is already a green checkmark next to my SAT score do I still need to send them in again? It is still on my check list but I sent it in while applying back in November.
@cocoonutty nope you do not need to send if you have a green checkmark. We didnt and my son has all of his stuff marked off and his status under where you SIR is “Intent to Enroll fee paid and documents complete” He only sent in his CC transcript through 7th semester and his 7th semester transcript from HS, and AP scores through last year. In July will need to send in final Transcripts from CC, High School and new AP scores.
I thought that Cal State peeps don’t take AP’s. I took three AP’s my junior year but I dropped out of all of them in January. I only had Calculus Honors and LA honors for my actual grades. (Gym and health too).
@prettyme0: What do you mean the Cal state peeps do not take AP’s?
I thought credit is given by both CSU and UC if a 3 or greater is scored on the AP exam.
@biscuit4reggie: CSU’s are actually more generous with AP credit than UC’s. My son at SDSU was able to get credit for 5 courses. That is why I questioned the above remark.
In my portal it says “Partial Transcript Received, Will Be Required to Provide Final Transcript” but there is a green checkmark for status. Does that mean that I’m good?
@101400 you are good for the may deadline. You will need to send another one at the end of the school year with your final grades by July 25th I believe is the date. You met the may 1st date for have transcript
July 15 is the deadline for final transcripts and AP scores. My D just submitted her last year’s AP scores and college transcript request for DE and high school transcript request as of first semester for the May 1 submission deadline.
@101400 How long did it take for your transcript to clear?
How does orientation work? Will students stay in the dorm? Are there other activities planned, or is it just the time slot for walking around campus and registering for classes?
I believe Orientation is only one day and not overnight but not positive @texcalmom
@texcalmom and @Bean981: Freshman Orientation is one day from 8 am- 5 pm with no overnights. We stayed in a hotel on the Trolley (Green Line) so our son could experience the places he could get to without having a car on campus the first year. Also suggest if you plan to stay overnight, that you book as soon as you have an Orientation date since SD is a very popular vacation destination during the summer.
Also please note when Comicon is happening 7/19-7/22 so hotels that entire week will be next to impossible to get so keep that in mind for orientation dates if you have to book a hotel.
Just received my notice of admission two days ago into the online business college. Was also accepted into Cal Poly Pomona, but San Diego was my #1 choice! Just in case anyone else out there is waiting to hear back about an online program at SDSU, note that extension programs are ineligible for some grants, such SUG. If you’re relying on grant money at all, Pell might be the only one available.
I just found out that my daughter had to go to College Boards to have her AP tests from last year sent to SDSU. However she chose regular delivery which I believe is 7-10 business days (from yesterday 4/20/18).
My question is - is the May 1 deadline to receive the AP test scores or when they were ordered/sent?
I regret not choosing rush delivery for only $10 more…
Any feedback would be appreciated! Otherwise I may go back and re-order them rush delivery and pay the additional $25.
@cys220 i believe it has to be postmakred by 5/1 but I would double check. Ours took a couple of weeks to post.
