SAT II Bio E/M and SAT II Math Level 2

<p>@waddupwaddup I’ve got like 11 months to study. I have a really good memory, and that 580 was before I even knew about the different prep books (Barron’s is supposed to be harder). And you’re supposed to do like 30-50 points better on the real test, so I’m around the low 600’s right now. It’s not a bad start. Here are some quotes proving that freshmen CAN get good scores on the SAT II Biology:</p>

Amen. Each parent needs to assess their child. For my S, his HS 9th grade bio class and teacher prepared him well for the SATII and I discussed with him in advance the need for self-study on the portion not taught in the 9th grade course.</p>

<p>He had taken the SAT in 7th as part of the Duke TIP program and got a 1390 so he seemed ready for the SATII and did very well. After having both the SAT and SATII experiences early in his life he never had any anxiety about big tests. That was a major plus.</p>

<p>I agree that knowing the “success rate” of my S’s private school on the SATII on bio, prior to my S testing, was a major security blanket for me, although I don’t know how much difference it made to my S.

My older son took the SAT II in Bio freshman year and did really well. I agree that the Bio SAT II is a relatively easy test if you have had a strong Bio course. I’d recommend that your son take a couple of practice tests to see where he is. Tutoring seems over the top for this test (and I come from the land of tutoring for everything under the sun). My son took the test in June two days after his biology final - he took a couple of practice tests and spent some time looking through a Barrons book, and that was enough.
