Darn it. I got both of those wrong then.

Vice royality of new spain=mexico.

Darn it. I got both of those wrong then.

Vice royality of new spain=mexico.

Vice-royalty of New Spain’s core was Mexico.
Karl Marx, I forgot what the answer choices were, I think I put something about capitalism destroying itself.
Similarity between the two, I forgot the answer choices but I remember I was confident. If anyone remembers please say them.
And yes to the Etruscans.

It was actually difference between the two I think, and I said that spain had a colonial centralized bureaucracy or whatever.

what was the one for the ghandi picture? and I remember there was a question about gods being childish or something?

Oh yeah, that was the correct one, you definitely got it right. There was no such thing in New England.

I chose D I think. I don’t really remember what the answer was though. It wasn’t the one about mother goddess.

I think it was that they were human like?

Yay, I got the Etruscans right.

Are you sure about the Karl Marx one, though? I thought he said there would HAVE to be a power struggle between proletarians and bourgeois, and Marxist-revionists were the ones who said it could be peaceful. Correct me if I’m wrong?

Gods being childish, no. It was something about tying religion and nationalism into the movement.

Childish gods were in the Greek religion.

And yeah, I’m not 100% sure about the Marx one. I know it was NOT the Russia choice- no one, least of all Marx saw that one coming.

Also was the roman influence Etruscan or Greek, because it said at the HEIGHT of rome. I wasn’t sure so I put Etruscan.
There was also a question about the influence in central american and the Caribbean, that was France right? because i wasn’t sure :(

@spnlove,

I said United States.

@joshmay,

I think you’re thinking about a different question. He was talking about the question regarding sumerian gods, “all were true except”, and the answer was that they were human like or whatever.

Consensus on the Ghandi/Mehru in a cage poster?

IMO it was a discouragement to the people from following the Independence movement. If I remember the question, it said the poster was issued after Ghandi was imprisoned. Also, there was a guy falling into the trap doors of the cage, and hundreds following after him.

I remembered that there was a question about an African idea or ideology and one of the choices was Nelson Mandela. What was the answer to that?

And holy crap, just on this thread so far, I counted that I got 11 wrong :(, plus I omitted 6, so this does not help.

Africa for Africans - Marcus Garvey,

I left that one blank.

The ghandi/mehru in a cage poster is definitely the cultural and religious symbolism or whatever. If anyone could remember the complete answer instead of just the cultural and religious part would be nice.

@almostsk8tr, Ah okay yeah then he would be right in that case.

The Ghandi in the cage was designed to tie religion and nationalism into the movement; if it were an attempt to discourage people from joining, less emphatic imagery would have been used. The poster was designed to stir up emotions.

“Africa for the Africans” was said by Marcus Garvey.

Yeah! I got Africa for Africans!

Are you sure the cage poster is cultural/religious symbolism? That was the simplest answer, but what’s the argument behind it?

@josh,

do you remember the actual answer? Was it the cultural and religious symbolism one? Also, what did you say for the society that did the most to prepare for droughts and disasters?

I know for a fact that I got 3 wrong and I omitted 10. I hope that’s all I missed :(

Did anyone get the question about Spain and the Enlightenment? The answer choices were Manners, Politics, Science, and I forget the other two.

That would still be an 800 reggie.

Does anyone remember the wording of the cultural and religious symbolism one?

@swebber, i said politics.

@swebber I put politics
