My score was 60points off what I thought it was going to be. I am probably ordering score verification to make sure, but I am guessing I just made silly mistakes somewhere.

i got a score of 630 and i was like 100% sure i would get over 700…don’t know how that happened

My D’s Math score dropped 60 points (660 to 600) on Oct SAT I. It’s a shame because she was focusing on increasing her Math. Oh well. Will be interested to see if there is any trend here.

my S got 780 in Math

I got a 730, but felt like after the test I got a 700 or high 600.

Tomorrow is when the detailed report of the score comes out. You can get a little better idea where or what type of questions you had it wrong before deciding whether to do score verification. $55 is a lot to see if a machine might possibly make a mistake.

i got a 720 in math, and that’s 100 points more than what i got the last time i took it !! As i read somewhere earlier on this thread, you have to be very meticulous in order to get a good score in math, it can’t be qualified as “difficult” !!

I was actually surprised at how they was such a large mark off for incorrect answers. I got only 1 wrong and got a 780.

yeah… it was a harsh curve. i got 2 wrong and it dropped to 750… whattheheck… haha

See??? That’s why the SAT is such a bad test. Two or four questions off dictate (720 vs 800) the kid’s apitude/ability in math–how does finding the “the integer n that is a factor of 24 and 10 that is a perfect square” show that you have more ability than someone else (oct test)?? What kind of probelem solving abilities are they testing?

^ability to understand the question, notice a pattern, and reach an answer quickly. Yes, the curve is harsh but that’s what separates the best from the good.

It elementary. It can weed out the 750+ from the non 750ers, but that is about it. If you really want to know who is the cream of the crop, and not just the kids who payed attention in math class, take the AMC/AIME/USAMO.

I AGREE! i kept getting 730s on practice tests consistently, but i ended up only getting a 680 on the real test. my reading went down by 80 too, so i was really mystified
