SAT Math Thread

@verimilionwaves
yeah I actually messed up distributing the minus a couple of times…the problem literally took me like 8 minutes -____- I suppose guess and check would’ve been a faster solution in this situation

Anyone know the experimental math section? I’m dying to know because I bombed one of the 25 min sections…(I think it was the one w/ the marbles)

jesus I cant believe i got the t,r,p one wrong, i thought it said t is what percent of r, so i thought 15 was 133% of 20…

marbles one was nonexperimental.

experimental had something the length of a wire, a question about people who play guitar vs people who play piano… that’s all i know. didn’t have that section.

Does anyone know if the question about the rope with the knots in it (I think it went each knot was 6 in and the length between each knot was 13 in) was in the experimental section or a real section? The question was asking for a formula to determine the total number of knots with a knot at each end with n=the number of knots. I think i put 19n-13. Thanks!

Experimental

the one with the marbles was non-experimental

From what I gather in this thread I’ve missed three indefinitely

That “t/r/p” problem

The labels problem

French/Math problem

hopefully the curve isn’t as harsh as everyone is predicting it to be, remember CC attracts thoughtful and determined students. Hopefully I can still score a 730 +, not happy with missing those problems :frowning: .

yeah lauren that doesn’t sound familiar at all so it must have been experimental.

Math wasn’t easy and plenty of trick questions, think it should be the normal 800 780 760 740/730.

really hoping -2 is 760 or even 770 :D

I missed pencils, that is all so far, what was the intercept one where it ask at what point doesn’t it intercept

^ 2 is the answer

Can you guys list some of the hard questions from the experimental question? I know i omitted the marble question and absolute value question. Did those questions count?

Marble question and absolute value question counted, yes. Not experimental.

I need to stop checking this thread, its making more and more depressed. I know i missed one, and then the nutrition one, and im pretty sure i missed the vending machine stocking one cause i did how many were left. Ughh so much for getting my 740

What was the “labels” question?

Forthe vending machine one was 44 an answrler choice?

^No it was 196

I put C (90s), I was trying to figure out why I couldn’t solve it, and apparently the question said that BOTH vending machines could hold 120. I thought it was 120 combined!

Well -1.25

so the answer was 196?!

Vending machine one was “4*49” which was 196.

There are TWO machines, beverages and snacks.

EACH machine can hold maximum of 120 items.
5/6 of beverage machine’s items were purchased, leaving with 1/6 left-over
4/5 of snack machine’s items were purchased, leaving with 1/5 left-over

QUESTION was asking how many of TOTAL of beverages and snacks need to completely fill the machine-s.

5/6120 + 4/5120 =
120 (5/6 + 4/5) =
120 (49/30)
4(49)
196.
Choice D or E I believe.
