i am very weak at vocab and so nervous about it.

hold is grap, not maintain… right??

im hopeless

^
I put maintain :frowning:
Were you guys ****ed at the literary devices. They put like ten questions on it! The last question for the Louisiana was it repitition because he kept saying Louisiana but now I think about it, it was only in the first sentence and they were asking paragraph. I actually think it might be allusion though? What about personification? Metaphor? Also would he not understand the psychology of the Russian characters? I realized my answers don’t match CCers, I should have skipped : (

actually for that question repetition is correct because in the last paragraph all the three sentences started with “I wanted to”. It has nothing to do with the repetition of the word Louisiana

I put maintain and repetition.

waht was the alliance sentence completion for?

Could someone explain why serious = thoughtful and not humorless in the “celebrity” passage? My answer was “humorless” because the previous sentence was talking about entertainment and I figured the opposite of that would be “humorless”, which is why artists etc should be worried.

Thoughtful makes sense because it implies intelligent criteria.

Maintain also has much more of a majority than grasp.

^^^ 10 char

Oh okay D: The celebrity passage was quite killer sigh. I hope I get a reasonable score for CR. ><

what was the dismay and alliance questions again?

I said grasp…

the alliance one was a sentence completion, no? i’m not sure.

^Alliance was sc and very easy.

I only have -2 so far as long as I can pull shamelessly conceited and maintain into the correct column.

I am going to restart some dialogue on the shamelessly conceited question.

Most of us can agree that he was being shameless. He was brazen about his motives and didn’t show any qualms.

Conceited is more nuanced though.

This definition of conceited “having an excessively favorable opinion of one’s abilities, appearance, etc” tends to favor this answer due to the fact he described the press conferences as being pretty vain.

Nevertheless, shamelessly vain is pretty strong diction. Usually the SAT leans toward moderate descriptions.

I put “maintain”, “mildly ridiculous” and “cavalier”. -3 and 1 omit so far… (if humorless is wrong)

do u remember the alliance question though, or the general idea?

careyprice: It was something about two organisations sharing resources, so alliance made the most sense I think.

yeah, I put alliance, pretty sure it was right.

oh yeah forsure i remember that
any ideas for a reading curve so far…
