I see what you mean… but does anyone remember the text of the question? I thought it asked what about himself he was trying to show by making that statement.

dkauf i think its clear that he was mocking that attitude…he was thinking back and saying “wow that was mildly ridic”

Questions such as that will never close until the test scores come out.

RPizzle - yes exactly so that should be his intention of writing that passage then - if he didn’t want to show that it was ridiculous he would have straight out said that he was acting arrogant.

Anyone has to change his/her focus to tomorrow’s APs?

haha my AP exam for chem is next week and our school is forcing us to take it…i’m planning on canceling scores

I’m so scared about this whole SAT. I’m a sophomore and if I break 2300 I’m free my junior year haha.

wow…ur a sophomore? why the hell would u ruin a fun year with SAT?

I actually hardly prepared - no classes and I did 2 practice tests, but I got a 2270 on my PSAT so I felt I was in pretty good shape.

um i could only dream of that score. -_-
i think you’ll be fine.

@ Skyhigh: Ahhhh!! APs!!! I have Calc this Wednesday. Oh god…it’s like that math question about the Physics, Calculus and English reports where the answer was Calc on Wednesday.
-.-
I should probably be studying…I have Calc, Chem, English and US History…
Grawrrr.

Are you guys taking any SAT II’s in June or the ACTs?

I’m still debating whether or not I should take SAT IIs in June or in the Fall.

I have Chem and English sooonn ahhhhh

Yea I’m taking Math II and Chem SAT IIs in June.

I’m still debating whether to take the ACTs or not.

I’ve got the Physics C AP next week, AP World test in a couple weeks, and the Chem SAT II in June

My school doesn’t have AP :)

But I have to get ready for Physics and Latin SAT IIs in June.

I have an OT question but is ok if i take the chem sat II even if I took only chem I at school?

"I’m going to put an end to the cavalier, diffident question. here is the line straight from the book. “I don’t think I told her what she wanted to hear, but I enjoyed myself.” the next line is “I don’t think she believed my stories.” This is absolutely diffident or lacking confidence. She gave her best answer, she is just not confident on whether it will suffice for the reporter or not. She doesn’t exhibit arrogance or haughtiness (cavalier) and she isn’t humble about anything either. "

But the author doesn’t care if the reporter believes her stories. The author isn’t lacking confidence. It’s either humble or cavalier IMO. Probably cavalier, though I put humble.

Def. cavalier.

I agree, cavalier. Not a doubt in my mind.

i forgot if i put cavalier or not…what were the other choices besides humble and cavalier

diffident and pompous I think?
