SAT May 2012 Official Discussion

@supine, yes it was stolid, which can mean dependable

For the one where the mean was age 17, it was only I and II because it said mean not median so the third one could not work

yes the cube looked most rectangular. supine don’t be an elitist…anyone can say what they think provided they explain why. (btw I’m pretty sure the buffalo one was not expiremental. i put stolid too but I’m certain the correct answer is laconic.

Is it me or was the Cube one really easy>there was one choice that had less boxes than the other…

@Alvin, it said median. Thanks @bear.

@alvin
im pretty sure it said median and not mean, i looked at that problem for a long time. can anyone confirm?

@bear111 no it was not stolid. i put stolid but laconic means sociable…a better answer given the context

@hellosir
laconic was the answer for another question, and i dont think it means sociable? besides, it was supposed to be the opposite of sociable. it was like: although they travel in groups, when they are alone they are actually ______

@alvin
i am sure that it said median not mean

@hellosir, laconic means concise or terse. it was the correct answer for the one about moon exploration.

lol u guys r right sorry !! i was confusing questions

Are you guys sure because I spent a good amount of time on that problem and I’m pretty sure it said mean

For the 1-75 question. I think it was 25 and 50 guys.

no I believe it said mean, so III could not work.

Thanks Alvin!! Finally someone who agrees with me!

@alvin
im like 100% sure it was median

wait why is laconic correct? didn’t it say “on the contrary”?

@divy
it was the pair that added up to 76.

To anyone who had three writing sections, does anyone know if the first or second one of 35 questions was experimental

20 + 50 = 75. The number had to equal 76. Trust me.

@daro
the answer was the one that had 6 faces, the problem was that the faces overlap. I’m not sure if you counted all the faces correctly… Here’s a drawing (attempt) of the answer I chose.
|–|___
|–||–||–|_
_|–||–|_____

If you fold that up and have the center square as the one on the bottom, you would not have a top. I didn’t even bother counting the faces, I just visualized it.
