SAT May 2012 Official Discussion

did anyone get how to do the question…
mx+py = 10
(m+10x+py = 14

choices:
x=2
x=4
y=6
y=8
x-y=2

AND was this experimental since I had math experimental?

I had writing experimental, but for the one that was real (old books librarians), did anybody else get a small amount of Es??

kiki, you missed part of it. all the factors are prime.

Overall I didn’t think the test was that bad, save for a few tricky questions here and there. I actually liked almost all of the CR passages and the math was a lot easier than I thought it would be! For the essay, though, I barely had any time left to write a conclusion so I just wrote one general concluding sentence, but hopefully my examples will still help me get a good score.

Speaking of scores, when are they gonna be released?

@kiki
you need to find the common factor between the two which makes c=3

@snihamin

i didn’t have math exp and I had that question, so it’s real

@snihamin

i had x=4

They all had to be prime numbers.
The only numbers that can multiple together to equal 33 are 11 and 3.
Make a = 11, b = 3, and then bc is supposed to equal 21, so make c = 7.
Thus, abc = 11 * 3 * 7 = 231

I mean:

(m+1)x+py= 14

@snihamin x=4

@kiki2025
They told you a, b, and c were prime numbers…

College Board site says May 24th for scores…

Can somebody please make a compiled list for the answers ? It would be easier

Does anyone remember the answer to the shapes that could be folded up to form cubes?

its was 231 and x=4 to the questions asked

@ TTT

I think C

It had two downward flaps and one up

yep, I just checked the college board site and scores come out May 24. I can’t wait that long though, I’m so anxious :(

@tttttttt I chose E but I’m not sure if that’s right

@snihamin you had to distribute the x

@tttttt i put D for the cubes one. that question was so weird ahhh
