You should post your question in the Scholarships forum.

Anyway…Do you mean SAT and GPA? or only SAT?

Few schools won’t also consider GPA.

However, if you’re wondering if you can still get merit without making NMF, and you have a high SAT and strong GPA, then YES, you can get merit scholarships.

Tell us more…

What is your major?

What is your SAT or ACT (include SAT breakdown and use the sitting with the highest M+CR…don’t superscore).

How much merit do you need? how much will your parents pay?

As mentioned above, Alabama gives ASSURED scholarships for stats as long as you apply before Dec 1st (unless you’re a NMF).

For a 1400 M+CR or 32 ACT and at least a 3.5 GPA, you get free tuition (including OOS tuition).

The above is for ALL majors.

If you’re an engineering or CS major, then you get an extra 2500 per year. AND, if you only have an ACT 30 or 1330 M+CR, then engineering will increase your scholarship to full tuition and also give you the 2500 per year.

If you aren’t in the College of Engineering, and you have a 1330 M+CR or 30 ACT, then you get 2/3 tuition (about $15k per year). This is also for all majors.
