SAT scores: First Attempt vs. Second Attempt

Jan 2010: 630CR/720M/720W - 2070
May 2010: 620CR/710M/790W - 2120
+50, superscore of 2140
Ironically, what I studied for 2nd time round was the math. First time no studying at all. However, I only went over a few basics for the “studying” and didn’t do any practice. After that I got out of the May test ticked off (I also blame a lack of sleep on that day for my lower math and CR, seeing as by the last 4 sections I was practically asleep. And I had 2 CR sections, and understood only half of what was asked as I was so asleep. AND, get this: by the time I was at section 7, it was 1:30 PM, and half the other classes had finished. Like I’d concentrate at that time. The proctors suck.)
For the June SAT, which should hopefully be my last, I’m preparing heavily, especially on CR, using the Blue Book. Not going to do any Writing practice, aside maybe get a few examples for the essay and brush up on a format for the essay to use. Want to see if I can get a 12.

For math, it’s all a matter of not doing careless mistakes for me. In all my practice tests it’s that way, and in all my actual SATs it’s that way. However, every practice test I’m doing now is 760+, with at most 2 mistakes. Hopefully I can avoid those altogether on the June date and get that 800. CR is a totally different story, but with DH I should get all SC’s wrong, and based on my practice, I’m getting a total of 4-10 wrong on each test total on the passages. Hell of a wide range, so here’s hoping the passages don’t quote the US constitution or whatever like some of the BB tests do. Seriously, I couldn’t understand a single word of the texts that had the opinions on women in the 17th-19th century. At all.

Bar that kind of text, and a 700 is guaranteed. Provided I get some sleep this time :)
