<p>The 700/700 may be …depending upon that season’s competition and USNA’s priorities … necessary. But not sufficient. As noted, there are benchmarks important (and often dynamic/in motion, i.e. simply because they worked LAST season doesn’t mean they will THIS or NEXT season. It is a moving target with many variables.</p>
<p>The complexity in this, especially for novice interested parties is as GoNavyXC rightly notes …and I’ll offer in a different way … there is an inclination to want to compare this process to, let’s say gaining admission to Princeton or Cornell. There are some comparable aspects, but on the whole, apples and oranges. And that can be very difficult to grasp. And watching it over many seasons does provide some implied insight, but so much of this goes on in seclusion without exposure or explanation. And for both the 3Qed and nominating processes.</p>
