SAT Subject Test- Biology Thread

im pretty sure… cause i remember thinking… humans are chordates… and we dont have exoskeletons

I also got exoskeleton as the right answer (IE: chordatas dont have it)

[Insect Anatomy - A Comprehensive Introduction to Insecta](http://www.einsteins-emporium.com/life/animal-info/insects/insect_anatomy.htm)
according to this C is secretion and reproduction and B is leg attachment?

A grasshopper is different though. If you looked at the picture, the legs should have been attached in the very rear.

i remember seeing the front (small) legs attached to the center and the big ones were ambiguously drawn so i said center

oh i must have been stupid then. because i know that. but i think i put something else.

I got this from the old thread, but AHHHH!
[Grasshoppers: Their Biology, Identification and Management: ID TOOLS - Field Guide to Common Western Grasshoppers: External Anatomy](http://www.sidney.ars.usda.gov/grasshopper/ID_Tools/F_Guide/extanat.htm)

yeah according to the link above, both the large jumping leg and the small legs are attached to the middle, or the Thorax and the reproduction/secretion occurs in the abdomen or the big butt thing.

****. it for sure looked like the big legs were attached to the “abdomen” on the test.

there was also one about veins. do you guys remember that. i put “veins cannot be voluntarily constricted” or something like that.

same, we don’t have any control of our veins… I don’t even think veins constrict anyway… that’s arteries.

agreed.

oh no, was the smoker’s thing “emphysema”? I had NO idea what emphysema was… I put black lung :(

I put black lung as well which was the WRONG answer…

shoot this curve better be nice

and i think the egg one is prevent dehydration. I think the question was, how did eggs adapt to survive on land? Yolk doesnt work, because all eggs, not just terrestrial eggs, have yolk.

anyone else already sign up for the december bio test? same.

I omitted 10, and I’m sure I got enough wrong to put me below 700.

^ Same here :frowning: I’m really disappointed. I had omitted 11 before, but I went back at the end and I guessed on a couple more…so I ended up leaving 8 blank I think.

What was the curve like in January? Does anyone know?

Is SAT Bio always this hard or is this test an exception? I signed up for Bio and now I’m really intimidated…

This test was an exception. That is for sure. The curve was -5 points = 800 in January.

Apparently this test was the hardest one they’ve administered…yeah just my luck. December will prob be easier, but I wouldn’t hope on it. I’m not retaking anyway.

Yeah, alllll of them are easier than this one. This one just sucked big time. I hate how both my re-takes were this test. I canceled the first time too! Argh…
