<p>Well, I’m one of those people who’re NOT taking AP yet still taking the course cause I’m really very dumb…</p>
<p>Sooo…I started studying the WHOLE course this week with the barron’s like 5 hours a day and pretty much breezed through it…</p>
<p>The African tribes, man…I put down Zulu for that one. And about the ancient river valleys…was that one HEALTHY CLIMATE? x.X Hmmm… I marked down Iran for a question I was unsure of (I think something about colonization or the ottomans? I forgot)… Oh yes! And another question…which two bordering nations exploded w/ nuclear capabilities in the late 90’s–Was that Pakistan/India? The christian question “thou–something Peter”…what was the answer to that? HISTOGRAPHY?? What the BLOODY HELL is that?!</p>

<p>I didn’t take the test, but I can tell you that the primary reason ancient civilizations located themselves near river valleys was to exploit them as a resource for food (high quality natural irrigation) and fresh water (self-explanatory). These were precious commodities that were too scarce elsewhere to support a well developed civil society (until the development of organized trade much more recently, in my opinion). So if “healthy climate” meant that, you’re correct.</p>

<p>Both naturally irrigated areas and stable sources of fresh water were very hard to find outside of a river. If “irrigation” and “drinking water” were two distinct and exclusive responses, then I’d have to pick irrigation. If they were both contained within one answer, that answer is obviously correct.</p>
<p>They’re both very essential pieces to the puzzle of why civilizations were typically centered in river valleys.</p>
