Really, Delta Airlines??? First you delay my grandbaby’s (and her parents) 11:30 am flight 5hours, then 6, then 7. Then you get them settled on plane…and THEN decide you don’t have enough crew, so you cancel until tomorrow am…and then escort all off plane.
A flippin’ 75 minute flight…

First person i speak to in the doctor’s office says I am considered a new patient because I have not been in 5 year (specialist you don’t need to see that often) and she can see me the last week of December. Call a different location for the practice and they can see me tomorrow (I deferred to Friday).

OK family, I am sorry I’m the only one that is retired, so everything that requires action during the week, is thrust upon me. Doctors appointments, grocery runs, chauffeuring our mother everywhere, because you forgot, or don’t want to be bothered.
The latest just upsets me.
I have researched banquet facilities and have eaten several meals, at my own costs, at restaurants I don’t like.
Found a great facility; they’re willing to accommodate us on short notice. I advised you about the costs per family. You all agreed. Now you want to change everything.
Now, you want to change it? I’m going to be meeting with the catering manager at that beach facility to sign a contract! There are three families that need to book flights and time is getting short!
I do not want to deal with a clubhouse!!! I know none of you does this, but I’ve planned weddings and banquets for team sports for the past 20 years. I don’t want the headache of being on short notice, finding a caterer or dealing with the in-house clubhouse caterer with unclean and unkempt facilities.
Yeah those of us that are retired don’t do anything -we don’t have the upkeep of our homes -we don’t have to take others to doctors appointments. We don’t have bills to pay and dealing with those things and chores.
By the way I’m not changing the original plans- we’re out of time because none of you could make up your minds!

a system for marking young victims for abuse by giving them gifts that they would bring from one priest to another
I don’t think I’d ever be able to trust the Roman Catholic church again. I’m sure there are lots of good apples in the barrel, but too many rotten ones in there for decades.

This is something I wish I could tell my dad but I can’t.
I joined a Reddit forum for ex-members of the fundamentalist church I grew up in. To my surprise, more than a few of the posters have mentioned that they had almost constant stomach aches when they were kids. Wow, so did I!!! I never put the pieces together. I think the anxiety of having to be perfect all the time while wondering if I was going to hell affected me more than I realized.
I did keep my faith, but in a much healthier denomination.

Dear frIend, no it’s not ok that you thought you “only had a summer cold” and got together with us anyway (one of us is in their 80s for goodness sakes!) - now I’m on medication for the viral infection (not Covid) you graciously shared with me. Ugh! Just learn to say “I’m not feeling well, I’ll pass” you’re a nurse!

A founder of a company I worked for just passed. A successful business person at a level most never reach (think many hundreds of millions of dollars). But his true legacy is that he is/will be better remembered for everything he did outside of that business. For the community, for individuals. Truly something to emulate.

When I used the word homophobic, you said that the people who feel as you were describing aren’t “phobic.” I disagree. I think you think the only thing phobic means is fear. No, it also means aversion. The behavior you describe absolutely fits the bill for aversion, and just because that aversion is based in the religion you promote doesn’t make it any less horrible.
You are one of my best friends. We agree that we will never agree about this, but I have seen some softening of your stance over time and I am grateful we can still talk about these things.
