I’m so proud of D for “adulting” after someone rear-ended her on Friday. It turned out to be a blessing, because the insurance company declared her 10-year-old car a total loss and gave her $6,600! I wish we were closer to her so we could help her buy another car, but an online friend lives in the same city and said she would be glad to help D through the process.

My Ma had a fall few weeks ago. She had a small fracture on her elbow. I have been bathing her and helping her around her house. Today was the first follow up visit with a doctor. I really prepped my ma about how the cast may not come off today and there may be physical therapy to follow.
The doctor looked at it, took off the cast and told Ma she wouldn’t physical therapy. He said the fracture was so small that he couldn’t even see it very well.
Both my Ma and I were so happy/relieved. We both now get our lives back.

Thinking about you so much this past week, Dad. I know it’s because baseball season started which has always been your favorite time of year. Both of our teams are undefeated and you would have been giving me a hard time about being a Padres fan. This is going to be a difficult month for Mom with your birthday. I really miss you.

I just finished reading a raw, honest post from an acquaintance whose 10 year old son is battling DPIG. He’s been in this fight for over a year, so they know that they are dealing with all of this on borrowed time. It’s gut wrenching to read about what his son is feeling and saying, as well as what the dad is feeling. Please send positive vibes into the universe for this family.
