I hate when the grocery store has 5 ears of corn for $1. I only want 4 ears but they would be priced separately and cost more than $1 so I am forced to buy 5.
I liked Lester Holt as the news anchor on NBC, but I’m liking Tom Llamas too. I guess change isn’t so bad.
“There are some among us that would rather lose a friend than an argument”
Sad but true
Lucky for my husband, it looks like our insurance claim (through Capital One Visa) for $3,500 for the car accident he was responsible for is going to be approved. It’s taken me over a month and a half. I will probably have to pay the credit card bill before we get the money, but that’s OK! What a relief. We will ALWAYS buy the car rental company insurance when we travel overseas from now on!!
Oh you don’t want to give me a price adjustment? On the things I bought 5 days ago? Fine. I will reorder the stuff and return the previous purchase. Caring for the environment much, huh? It’s on you, not me.
He could really use a break. This streak of bad luck has been going on too long.
When about to taxi off the gate and the lights, engines and AC suddenly turn off, it is hard to take the pilot’s advice and not worry just a little bit.
Update: “Just a little paper work and we will be on our way”
I wonder if this tour is sold out?
(my bolding)

I wasn’t sure whether Jaws would hold up after all these years. I shouldn’t have been concerned … it’s just as good now as it was when I was a teenager!
You’re my dear friend and I love you. But your nonstop diatribes are exhausting. Not everyone is out to get you. You need more help than I can provide.
In the meantime, you could have a nice side gig writing country songs
I caved and renewed my WaPo subscription, even though I was planning to cancel because of “ownership issues.” I can cancel at any time. I want to support the writers. I’m really not sure what’s better in this case.
My niece is 37 weeks pregnant. At 36 weeks pregnant, she called her dad because she had such bad back pain that she couldn’t get out of bed and her husband was on a business trip.
This weekend, she’s at a cottage on a family vacation, 4 hours from her house. In a rural area with a very small regional hospital.
That’s ok, because her husband has signed up for a race when the baby is 2.5 months old. In a less populated state out west. They live in Michigan.
Who thought this was a good idea? To plan a family vacation when one of the kids is 37 weeks pregnant. It’s her first baby
Also the divorced parents are both there. Sounds like a great time to me.
I can’t, I just can’t
You have got to be kidding me.
My thoughts and prayers are for my friends and all those who have loved ones deployed somewhere doing something
I don’t usually do pick ups at the airport. Last night I waited in arrivals at an international terminal. So fun to see people waiting with signs, flowers, and balloons. A few of the reunions were so heartening to see. People overjoyed to see a loved one.
My oven stopped working.
Which was good I guess because the air conditioning did also.
Except that I just had the AC fixed. The check was cashed I think on Thursday.
Just in time for the hottest day of the year possibly
“Didn’t see them coming” is not an excuse for totaling our car the exact same way you totaled our last car!!! Yes, they hit you. But you should have been looking out for them!
(Fortunately no one was hurt!)
I don’t understand why you can’t stop using your phone while driving!
My dear son, I know you are going to be okay. I know this type is extremely curable. But there’s always this nagging worry. I’m your mom, after all and you’re my “baby”. You start your last round of chemo tomorrow morning. I will be there with you in spirit and praying the side effects are not as awful this time.
