Oh wow, having trouble locating the 25/26 Covid vaccine in my area - did find a CVS that carried it but my Drs office and Publix not getting it. Anyway, hope those who would like to take it can get it when you’re ready.

I’m going to confess to something. A member of my late H’s family and his wife are in town one day next week and have invited me to dinner. I really, really don’t like this guy ( I like all of H’s other relatives). I don’t want to go. Is it bad to cancel and say I have a conflict? Because truthfully I do have an activity with a bunch of friends I really, really like that will somewhat conflict.
Trying to decide if I should take the high road and just go out with them ( will require much holding of my tongue) or claim the conflict…

I really wish teachers weren’t pushed into getting their M.Ed’s before gaining some classroom experience. I’m sick and tired of teachers that think they should get certain positions or better pay but DON’T KNOW HOW TO TEACH. Or WHAT to teach. I also know so many new teachers who did a 5th year M.Ed in a specialization they realize they don’t want to be in. How can you become a reading specialist when you haven’t even taught it? Veteran teachers do not take kindly to being “coached” by someone with no classroom experience. I really wish EVERY MA/MS program, in every field, required experience. What does it really mean for someone to graduate with an advanced degree without ever working in the field?

Found out today that BIL had MIL change her will last summer to give 100% of her home to him and nothing to DH. Never mind the fact that DH and I spent $200,000 keeping her in the home. Somehow it didn’t cross his mind to tell anyone they did this, but he’s always completely transparent. Right. I pay all MIL’s bills and she never paid an attorney. We asked who paid the legal bill and he stammered before saying maybe he did. This from a man who never even picks up a sandwich for her without using her credit card. And we’re supposed to believe he’s completely trustworthy??

I get a medication for our dog at CVS and her profile is linked to mine. I checked on my eligibility for various vaccines today in my portal and learned I was eligible for nothing. Not even a flu shot. Sabadog, however, is eligible for Covid, flu, rsv, meningitis…the list goes on. It’s going to be a really fun winter.

New neighbors - We love you. You seem totally great. Having your landscaper show up on Saturday mornings at 7 am is not OK. Yes, he’s doing non powered activities now but your metal gate is loud and right under our bedroom window. I also guarantee that at 8 am on the dot, the lawnmower will go on. I’m just trying to enjoy a quiet morning on my sunporch with me tea and my dog

Maybe auto-pay isn’t such a good idea. I haven’t opened my credit card bills for the last couple of months… oops. I used to pay close attention and track expenses. Clearly I’m not doing that this year.

I really hate that I can’t call out someone’s dumb crap conspiracy theories because we are co-workers. Even worse, she drops them like little bombs in the teachers’ lounge or while you’re on playground duty together and there’s nothing you can do except move away from her or nod your head.

It’s silly. Our D is grownup, hasn’t lived with us for years. Yet here I sit, weeping because she’s leaving for 7 amazing weeks to play in Australasia.

An elderly woman in my building was found dead in her apartment. She had probably been there for a while. So sad, but also mistakes were made. When a neighbor called the police on Thursday for a wellness check, the police didn’t enter the apartment. Then on Friday at 9 am the building management was notified, but they didn’t check on the apartment and enter it until after 3 pm. The body should have been found at least 24 hours earlier.

Ughhh, I had my 25/26 Covid shot and my flu shot yesterday afternoon - I’m feeling miserable right now. Pretty sure it’s the Covid shot as all of them except the 1st and the 5th made me sick. I thought since I did not react to the last one, this one would not bother me - wrong, same sick, overly tired, feel like I have the flu feeling. But the flu shot, by itself has never made me feel bad so I’m thinking it’s the Covid shot again. Regardless, taking some kind of PM and going back to bed. Goodnight all!
