Frustrating when posters come to CC, receive helpful advice, get people here invested in their story, and then don’t come back to let us know how things end up. Of course it is their prerogative– just frustrating.

The nonsensical opinions you’ve shared lately are pretty epic. Stuff like:
- ‘Years ago, there wasn’t so much ADHD. People are just faking the symptoms now so they can get extra time on tests and stuff.’
- ‘Things were just fine when I was a kid and not everybody and their brother had ADHD.’
- ‘People basically lie their way into getting accommodations at school all the time now.’
- and my favorite one of all: ‘Psychologists don’t know what they’re doing and mental health is all made up. People need to just suck it up and deal with it.’
You said this to my face, knowing that my daughter got diagnosed with depression earlier this year. And when I said to you, “I’d like to see you try saying that to my daughter’s face. Just because you don’t believe in something doesn’t mean it isn’t true or doesn’t exist. Say that **** to my kid’s face and see how far that gets you.”
You wisely finally decided to shut up then. You should do yourself a favor and shut up around me on that topic in the future. Otherwise, we won’t be friends for too much longer. Seriously, just shut the heck up. Why in the world would you think it’s a good idea to spew that nonsense around me, of all people? Shut. Up.

Well, THAT sucks. Got a crown on my second premolar (#29) in mid March of this year. It fractured into 2 or 3 pieces and completely fell off earlier today.
I’m also leaving on an out of town trip very, very early Tuesday morning. Timing couldn’t have been worse.

How do you look your daughters in the eye with this attitude? If their husbands said #$& like you repost, you’d be angry. The guy must’ve used the word “diversity” 20 times last night, almost as many times as I heard the other overused term, “in space”.

Book TV (CSpan2) has started a new show called America’s Book Club. First guest was John Grisham. The interview was delightful. I could listen to him talk 24/7 and looking at him is not hard either. Interesting not only for readers, but those who might be fans of the films based on his books. It’s disappointing to see in the news that fewer people are reading these days since I feel that books are such a treasure. I can escape the current problems of the world and learn new things all from the comfort of my own home.

While it’s polite that D22’s boyfriend shakes our hands when he comes in the house, I’m so over it. I mean EVERY time. And when leaving as well. Half the time I’m either eating or in my Pjs’. Just be normal and say hi. And while I really like him and he’s an AMAZING pianist, I don’t think he’s the one she’ll end up with. I’d love her to cut bait, but I know she won’t.
