Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread (Part 1)

No wonder they looked distraught, not just sad.

I have no clue what you all are talking about and I suppose I should be grateful as it does not sound pleasant!

I get why some of you are having a grand ol’ time, but I don’t find it funny at all.

Upside: now we can teach my grandson opposites and history at the same time. Downside: it’s getting really hard to find an upside.

I moved to Maine for snow in the winter, not rain!!

I like snow in the winter and rain in the spring/fall (as long as it’s not too much at once).

I DO NOT like freezing rain!

If I die early it will be in a paperwork avalanch

Just get me the info that I need, and I will be fine.

Moving this thread back to getting things “college related” off my chest: This message is from me to my childrens’ grandparents (who used to be upper middle class) who keep telling my high stat and well qualified children they should apply to specific Ivy League schools or other top 40 schools. The schools they mention don’t offer much merit aid and are not affordable because we don’t qualify for need-based aid and can’t afford full pay or close to full pay. “When kids were born you said you would help the grandkids for college when the time comes rather than set up a college savings plan or contribute to it–despite several requests. And now some 18-20 years later you say you have no money now to contribute anything. I am very disappointed in you both. You had the financial wherewithal to help out years ago ----yet you chose not to. STOP putting ideas in your grandkids heads that they should consider colleges that are out of reach for us. This is cruel. Your contributions could have made a meaningful difference in their lives. STOP offering them your opinions about what colleges are good or not so good, stop saying colleges they should apply to or go to or not go to. Stop talking about colleges …period!!! We will tell you the school they selected and you should be enthusiastic with whatever school they select!”

Yeah, tomorrow’s procedure will go much better than the last one. No doubt about it. Thank god.

Ugh… another credit card breach. At least I’m getting the hang of which companies I have on monthly automatic charges to contact with the new card information when it comes.

Facebook is suggesting some interesting friends for me today. The women look like they are posing for a soft porn magazine and the men are from countries I can not pronounce! Which of my current friends are inspiring this selection?

Some people are just so annoying.

Dear colleagues allegedly collaborating on this project,

May you receive as you have given.

Why do I always seem to get the loudmouth on the treadmill next to me who answers his phone and talks by speaker. At the top of his lungs. I can’t crank the volume up on my headphones any higher to drown him out.

MODERATOR’S NOTE: For new posters, we ask that people not respond to posts in this thread. It’s purely a venting thread. @BingeWatcher

At least I don’t have to shovel cold temperatures!

This rant applies to some new Tesla owners (and some applicants to selective schools).

You have purchased a car that easily, with options, costs a six digit amount. There are FB groups with active members, an independent forum, a Tesla company forum, and numerous online magazines that cover Electric Vehicle (EV) news.

Yet, you ask the same questions as other ignorant owners, questions that you can Google the answers to. Or you can read the answer on the same FB group or subforum that you posted your question on, just as your cohort did, over and over. More money than brains. RTFM or Google it.

This applies to CC posters also. You are applying to HYPSM, but you can’t Google or read to figure out whether a business major is offered, the EA announcement time, the acceptance rate, whether you need to submit SAT Subject Tests, etc? If I were dictator . . .

Okay, I’m done ranting. I feel much better now. Thank you.

I always had a feeling that was happening, and now I have proof. I don’t feel that bad about it. After 50 years of watching your dysfunctional relationship, nothing really surprises me. But I’m too old to deal with the BS and am not going to be playing games. Just remember this the next time you call me for help. You don’t get to pick and choose how I spend my time. That’s my decision.
