When something breaks or goes wrong and you make make comments that should be just a
normal bunch of words I hear them as total negatives as “it cannot be fixed!” as that is our history.
When the oven breaks and I say “Da##” I am also rapidly problem solving. I am not throwing up
my hands as I experience you doing. And YES I did figure out how to reset the stove and did figure
out that there were steps to be taken and did not assume it was actually broken. I was able to think
about the cause and effect and the fact that we had a power surge after it was turned on.
You thought of none of that.
All the throwing up and wringing of hands just gets in my processing way!
The house is immaculate and the food is all prepared. We chose the readings. I made the playlist. (From Ave Maria to Let the Sunshine In.) I can’t distract myself any more. Now I have to think about sleeping for a few hours and getting there by 9:30.
I don’t know how I’m going to get through tomorrow. It’s so final.
Three homes well over $2M went pending in a day after they got listed. I feel sorry for the kiddos who are looking for a place to own in my neck of the woods. I hope Seattle goes the BC route. I really do.
I’m not sure why you are in charge of the finances. Just because the attorney said to pay Dad’s January and February bills does not mean you should do so UNTIL you confirm that the money is actually in the account. Dad should not have to pay the NSF fees when it is your fault. You should have just paid January and waited three days for the transfer to clear and then paid February.
When I was a pre-teen, we sang “Blowing in the Wind” and “This Land is Your Land” in day camp. How about some new protest songs with catchy choruses we can sing together?
So when I ask you if you want to order any Girl Scout cookies and you say ‘no’, it is not OK to take the thin mints you saw in the bag which I obtained for DD. Good thing I was home to tell you ‘no’ and take them out of your hands before you left with them. Just because it is under our roof does not mean ‘open season’. You are like a little boy with some of the way you act, and it is because of how you grew up. I understand that. But I am still ‘fighting’ it, after 38 years of marriage!
You maybe academically smart but you lack basic manners. Being condescending and insulting is not going to take you very far in life. You need to be able to communicate with people respectfully and being willing to listen to those who may have more knowledge and experience than you. Please don’t pretend to be a know it all. You are only 17.
No, when I get up at 6:30 on a Saturday morning to drive you more than an hour each way to ballet lessons, spend $200+. on two pairs of pointe shoes, ribbons and their accessories, and buy you a nice lunch out, you do not get to be huffy with me when I want you to take out the earphones and chat a little in the car. Also, it’s reasonable that you wash your feet when you get home if you won’t shower right away, as you are not the one mopping the floor and shampooing the upholstery. On the other hand, maybe it’s high time you did! Aargh! 14!
There is no smell like the smell of feet that have been dancing in pointe shoes. :-< But I also know I will miss having those feet around (terribly) one day.
I get that corgis are a popular breed and that it is rare to find a rescue , but please people…stop purchasing from puppy mills and unscrupulous " breeders " I can see the sickness in your newly adopted pups who have likely had no vetrinary care , nor did their parents. They aren’t even old enough to be socialized .
So many changes in personnel coming at work! Never a good sign, and yet, we know nothing about WHAT is going to happen! C’mon folks, wait until the other shoe falls before jumping ship!
