Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread (Part 1)

okay, so we are one of those crazy ‘take your dog everywhere’ people BUT we only take the dog where regular dogs (not ESA or service dogs only) are welcome. We are currently traveling by car from TX to FL and staying in a variety of per-approved pet friendly accommodations. We have been eating in some awesome pet friendly restaurants. Tonight we were at a beach side restaurant that has non pet indoor seating and pet friendly outdoor seating on the beach.

When we were seated outside, the table next to us (a young couple with a 10 month oldish baby and grandparents) made some unkind comments about us bringing a dog to the restaurant. Our dog, a large block head English lab is trained to stay under the table and not bark or whine during meals, other servers didn’t even know he was there.

During the meal the table next to us managed to drop their baby carrier so that it hit my leg and slid under our table, (dog didn’t flinch), later throwing a bottle of milk/formula under our table hitting the dog (he didn’t move), and they still managed to complain about the dog next to them? After they left the wait staff commented that they managed to leave without a pair of pants and a large knife (likely large enough to be illegal). Love the beaches here but it’s time to move on…

MODERATOR’S NOTE: Please remember that the Terms of Service apply in this thread, also. Political comments are not allowed (I had to delete one post). Thanks!

I’m wondering why I haven’t heard back from you yet … you are usually so prompt in answering my questions. All I asked for is the minimum & maximum salaries for the zone/band my job falls into. I really, really hope it’s not because my salary is actually below the minimum (as I am beginning to suspect may be the case).

It sucks when you are invited for graduate school connect programs only to know that foreign students aren’t allowed…

If you’re going to extend the deadline, then there is no point having a deadline in the first place. If forms were due last Friday, and the kids didn’t get them in on time, too bad! How about teaching a little personal responsibility!

I know it’s not at the far end of the disrespect spectrum, but still it makes me feel awful when you walk out of a room when I am still talking! I’m sure I’ve pointed it out dozens of times but you never seem to get it or take it seriously!

I really don’t appreciate your attitude when we go on vacation without you. You are not entitled to anything.

Why can’t I shake that sinking feeling?

Geez, and I thought I was overly sensitive! Chill out - nobody was criticizing you.

I hope we can talk this weekend without you having an emotional meltdown. Last month I felt as if we were dealing with a four year old again.

A very nice man called just now. His neighbors had found a yellow bird and he recalled seeing our sign about our missing bird. So he drove over to the grocery store to get our number off the sign and called us. We jumped in our car to investigate. Unfortunately, it was a yellow parakeet and not a cockatiel, but it does give me hope that there are such nice people in the world. Maybe little Elesia will find a good home with another family.

There are more than the Ivy League colleges. Just because your first two children went to your husband ivy alma maters doesn’t mean your last daughter shouldn’t be encouraged to look beyond the Ivy League. And yes sometimes students admitted to Ivys commit to a non Ivy college.

Thank you for the warm assurances that my longstanding business is important to you. But when you, as shop owner, arrived 5 minutes after my appointment time, and found a way to work in services for another customer (who showed up on the wrong day and offered to come back at the right time), in between my work, and rushed my work and still made me late for my next commitment…well, good luck to your business.

If you post asking for recommendations in one of my facebook groups and end it with “ready, set, go!”, I will not be responding.

Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty we are free at last.

Dear Neighbor’s Dog, It’s 1:30AM. Please stop barking and go to sleep.

Dear Neighbor, What the heck are you thinking? If I can hear it clearly, it must be 100x louder for you. Bring him in the house.

Oh, my. Who knew that missing a dimension by 3/8" could be so disastrous? I will be paying for this mistake for a long, long time. :frowning:

It blows my mind that you could tell us that with a straight face. Obviously, you don’t realize that I have access to a spreadsheet that clearly demonstrates that you are lying through your teeth.

Hey, guess what? It wasn’t my mistake! I had a sleepless night for nothing. Turns out it was the architect’s error. Whoo hoo!! Maybe our HELOC will be enough to pay for a total of 11 more college semesters. I thought I was going to have to borrow from it to pay for my mistake.

After years of being accused of hiding funds, today I opened a savings account in my name only. It is exhilarating. A bit guilt inducing but very exhilarating.
