Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread (Part 1)

“On Wednesdays we wear pink” much?

Primaries, folks, primaries. Don’t forget. Vote them out. Or in. But please vote.

One never realizes just how quickly a house fire can happen until one is eating lunch and looking out the window at the yard to see thick black smoke rising and wonders what in the world someone would be burning in a city to cause that much smoke. Moving two feet over to get a better view showed actual tall flames coming out an attic window. A quick sprint to the house (while my mom called 911) made sure everyone was out, so all turned out ok for the family, but wow - a pleasant lunch turning into a (hopefully) once in a lifetime bit of horror/excitement within seconds.

Considering this was an electrical fire it’s a definite reminder to be certain to have working smoke alarms because it could happen to anyone, anytime. It took 2 1/2 minutes for the fire department to arrive, but by that time the fire engulfed the whole attic and was coming out a second story window too.

I finally got around to joining the parents facebook group for my daughter’s school. And I found some great ideas, and great info on her dorm.

Why on earth did I wait so long?

You repeatedly turned down multiple invitations to get together but never suggested alternate times/dates that worked for you. It’s clear that we aren’t a priority, and after over twenty years of friendship, that makes me sad.

Why oh why can no one be punctual anymore? Why bother making an appointment or giving me a window if you have no intention of keeping it? I do have a life. I do have things that I need to get done. I can’t wait for you for two more hours. My daughter moves out in less than a week! ARGH!!!

Dear therapist I realize that you have health problems. But it seems like you cancel sessions every time I am especially needing you. I have gained a lot from you but I think it’s time to go elsewhere.

Now to say that aloud…

C’mom little guy. The world is waiting to meet you; we’d like you to arrive naturally…soon.

Please, please, please let find his way. A different path his mother can take, the possibilities presented by a twelve lane highway with cloverleaf off ramps is just too much to handle.

Facebook is NOT using an algorithm that has you seeing only 26 people. Its a HOAX. What happened to people actually fact-checking before blindly believing/sharing what they read? Please stop sharing garbage. Waste of bandwidth.

Drove 1,888 miles, Sunday through Tuesday. 750 miles Sunday, 650 miles Monday, and 488 miles Tuesday (but D helped me drive on Tuesday, whew, because I picked her up in Philadelphia on the way home). All to pick up a puppy! I am fried beyond belief. He’s the cutest thing imaginable, but I’d forgotten how much work puppies are. He wants to be with us constantly. I’ve blocked out an area around my desk for him to hang out. He’s fast asleep under my office chair right now. My avatar seems to be adjusting to the puppy OK so far, but it’s probably the honeymoon phase. D will be home for four weeks, so I’m thinking of paying her to potty train the puppy (no name picked out yet). Life is good!

If you don’t know how to behave at a Broadway show, STAY HOME. My tickets were too damn expensive to have you diminish my experience because you need to answer a text, talk to your friend during the show, or voice every reaction you have OUT LOUD. And also, whose genius idea was it to start allowing snacks from the concession inside the theater? I remember when you were required to finish it in the lobby. So now I have the added pleasure of listening to someone wrestling their bag of chips and crunching away just like we are in the movies. Grrrrrrr.

Good news/bad news: First the bad- should probably not try to run on a still-healing broken toe.
Now for the good news… after working with our insurer for over 10 mos, I FINALLY got the last refund check today for overpayments we made due to their processing claims errors. YAYAYAYAY!!!

Again – TMI.

For most of my life I’ve heard we all have dopplegangers out there in the world. The longer I’m on CC, the more I think there are cyber-dopplegangers here for people I know IRL. It would be hard to say how often I read a post and think that it is so much like the personality & conversation of colleagues, friends, & acquaintances.

Follow up to the health insurance reimbursement success: happened to open our issue of this months Consumer Reports and three guesses what there is a multipage article on- medical billing/claims problems, errors, and confusion. One of one person in the story took two years to get their billing mess straightened out. Guess I should be thankful that mine only took 10 months b-(

Once again, this is a “no reply” thread. Thank you

Hey Karma? Now would be an excellent time to step in.

He could really use a break about now.

Went to pharmacy to pick up my medication today. Tech said “It is your lucky day, no charge”. I quickly say no charge because I paid my $6,500 for the year! :((
