Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread (Part 1)

I have never filed a workers comp claim but being the lawyer for HR, they made me set a good example and file for my faceplant in the Seattle airport and resulting injuries. I do not recommend this injury- severely bruised sternum.

Wow, IRS, you FINALLY sent a letter admitting you received payment on 4/12 and that we owe nothing. How many letters have you sent in the meantime asking for payment and penalties and interest–one to us that started it all, then another few to us individually plus our CPA, plus more letters asking for penalty and interest. What a colossal waste of time – yours, ours and the CPAs. Please go after those who aren’t paying their fair share of taxes or get refunds they aren’t entitled to instead of wasting time and resources on us law-abiding folks.

After finally getting what I needed from the AT&T international rep (phone coverage for cruise), I heard yelling in the background and asked about it. He said the others were partying. I asked where are you, Boston? No, Reykjavik. Glad they’re able to have such fun in customer service 8-|

It’s going to be a month before we know. You’d better get your act together.

If my daughter doesn’t get her act together soon She will be living at home until she is 40 (well until we kick her out!) She quit her job of 2 days because it was too stressful while taking ONE 3 hour class! Really it is because a boy dumped her and she is wollowing.

Today I found an altenrative to cow milk that is not coconut, almond, soy, or cashew milk…I am a genius!
Yes it’s not cheap, but I think it’s worth it. Mixing water, heavy cream with whey protein, how didn’t I think about it before?

Deep breathe. Your neediness is sad. You have created this.

It’s official - middle son is coming home from Beirut for Christmas! A generous man at church is paying his way. The donor asked us to keep his identity secret - that will be hard!

(Petty gripe - I couldn’t buy his airline ticket online because he didn’t fall in the 25-64 age range - bizarre. So I called the airline’s 1-800 number and it took the woman forever to be able to get the same cheap airfare as online. Went through all that, and then when I got the email confirmation I realized they’d misspelled my son’s first name!! So I called back and they couldn’t just change the name since it’s a multi-airline reservation. So she had to cancel the ticket and start over again! Argh. All set now, though, and that’s what matters.)

OMG! What is wrong with people? You scumbag, you knock out the security light, somehow get through the gate, sneak into my DD’s house and steal her laptop. Did you know she was there? Was the lookout guy watching for that? It’s an old laptop, not worth that much, but some of the info on it is irreplaceable.
When she chases your ugly butt and catches up, you smack her in the face!? Why not just drop the computer and become a man and get a job instead of taking advantage of a very brief lapse in security. Time for the landlord to fix that gate to work properly!
Maybe my little DD should not be chasing bad guys, but I admire her gumption,

Dr. Google is scaring the @%$# out of me.

Yesterday was my first day at the new job. A very good friend asked me to go out to dinner after work to celebrate my first day. She picked me up at the train station and we went to a restaurant of my choice. At dinner, she asked me in great detail about my first day at work. It was then it dawned on me that she wanted to make sure I had someone to share my first day with (I am divorced and kids have moved out). We had many glasses of wine at dinner. When the bill came she said it was her treat. I was very touched by her thoughtfulness.

My youngest son voted for them first time Sunday. He said he was a little nervous because he thought he might get accosted by all the people holding signs, but all they did was say “I’m so and so… thanks for coming out to vote.” He said he felt good afterwards. I had decided I wasn’t going to hassle him about voting, and I didn’t need to.

I wish my daughter would be nicer to me. Yes, I do.

Even though I only know you through your postings on CC, I sense you are such a smart, capable, thoughtful human being. I enjoy reading your postings on all sorts of topics. You’re such an inspiration. Good luck with the new job!

Oooh, the get-the-old-guys-out-of-here deal sounds tempting. Now to make sure the small print doesn’t screw H over. It would be nice if he could do this.

Times have sure changed since my babies were born. I wanted to buy a gender-neutral gift for my future grandbaby’s gender reveal party. Not sure a gift is required, but I had a coupon at our local little “department” store so it would have been nearly free. But no. Everything in there, and there was a lot, was either blue or pink. Or otherwise looked masculine or feminine. Even the teddy bears were either blue or pink. What happened to yellow?

Hm, the tortilla tastes a lil sour than I like. It’s like eating a sourdough in naan form, but hey, less than 3g carb per slice! It was worth it.

Wow, being 3rd highest vaping rate among youth in the US is a scary and awful designation! Sure hope we can reverse those awful trend.

It’s ironic as we are 3rd lowest in the nation for cigarette smoking!

Ugh, architects drive me crazy. You’re showing precast concrete panels, 4-foot by 2-foot in size, as only two inches thick?? How do you even get reinforcing in there with sufficient cover? You’ll get annoyed if I protest. But if there are any problems in the field, I’ll be the first one to get blamed. :frowning:

I am at a loss…once again, unimaginable tragedy has struck a family that we know in our community.
Their house burned to the ground two months ago and now their oldest son was killed in a car accident. How can so much tragedy happen to a family in such a short time span ?
