SCA Online Application

Some majors in SCA require a one-page writing sample describing a character. They do not specify single or double spaced, so you cannot be wrong no matter which way you choose to go. They also ask for a creative statement of up to 1000 words. That’s pretty long (approx 4 pages double-spaced), and may be one of the most important parts of your application. The department really gives a lot of weight to your creative statement because it gives you a chance to really express your passion for film and your personal vision! My advice is not to make this generic, but really show what moves you and what you hope to do in the future. And some SCA majors also ask for a two-page double-spaced second writing sample.

Best advice is to follow the instructions as completely as you can and not to worry too much about the conflicting or incomplete instructions. You may call the department admissions person, of course, and if you get clearing advice please post it.
