54 pages- we have to try and get this thread to 100. come on you guys, get back here and start posting.

I sent in all my forms by UPS, and it’s a great relief to know that they’ve all been received. Now I just gotta wait around till the release of decisions on Dec. 15 (most probably early hrs of Dec. 16 here).

It gives me great comfort to know that I will be the first person from my school to be rejected, deferred or accepted at Stanford. Talk about being a pioneer. :P

Haha… this thread has transformed into a status update in regards to the emails Stanford sends us.

My car tire blew up while I was driving on the freeway. I looked in my side window and I could see chunks of rubber flinging out.

wow that really sucks devaaki. good thing your alright =). on the plus side, if you go stanford, you don’t need your car lol. so you no longer have to worry about those pesky tires.

dreams No cars…

wait a second…

:p

nah, i think a lot of people bike, the campus is pretty huge. And then you still have to worry about flat tires. Or you could just get an upperclassman get you a parking permit type thing if you really wanted.

Plus, there’s a free shuttle on campus called the Marguerite that can take you pretty much wherever on campus until around 6 pm. It even goes to the Caltrain station in Palo Alto so you don’t have to walk all the way down Palm Drive. :]

Walking’s good exercise. Who wouldn’t wanna walk in Stanford weather anyways (most of the time)

hey, what do we do if we still have items listed as pending? Am I the only one with this problem? Should I ask my teacher to resend the stuff? How long should I wait until to get worried?

don’t worry, i have three things listed as pending. lol

Yea I have 4 haha. Don’t worry.

Really? Ah, that sort of relieves me a bit. When do you start worrying, then? :)

Haha, actually, make that 5 because my SAT score is not received yet. Hmm, I sent the materials pretty last minute, so I am not expecting Stanford to receive them till next week. :)

Lol, you guys. c’mon now. They really have to get decisions out … :P

Time to go tinker underneath my car…

Okay guys, is there a way I can contact Stanford about my materials? I just want to tell them that my counselor stuck both teacher recs in the same envelope with the same label and that’s why the other’s one is still listed as pending. Great planning on my part, I know. But at least I stopped her from sending one off as an OPTIONAL letter…then again, I knew she never liked THAT specific teacher. So yeah, I don’t know if there’s an email address that admission people actually check.

I e-mailed international admissions twice and never got a reply so you shouldn’t try that email address.

I got a reply from admissions@stanford.edu within two days- so I guess you should e-mail them there.

Oh, shoot, I wonder if my optional rec got received… because my e-mail says all the NECESSARY “credentials and materials” have been but what if the optional rec doesn’t get there in time for review?? ):

same here, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’m sure if you had let your teacher know the deadline, it’d be in.

If anyone cares, we have a longer early applicant thread than Brown, Cornell, Columbia, Dartmouth, (Edit: forgot Penn), Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT, and Caltech.

Actually, our thread is longer than any two or more of the above combined (except Yale + Princeton).
