I was just thinking…what are you guys MOST scared about if you get rejected?

I just feel that Stanford is the perfect fit for me. It’s close, has great opportunities, great atmosphere, amazing people…I mean, it’s hard to get much better than that. When I go there, I feel like I just belong. It’s hard to describe. Hopefully admission officers feel the same way about me being there. ;)

I just don’t want to go to Cal or the UC’s where I would just be another number. I know I would be able to distinguish myself, but almost all of my friends graduated last year and quite a few are going to Cal and a lot of them don’t like it there. I guess it would be a better experience and it is definitely a lot more hard work to go to a UC…but I’ve already explained why I adore Stanford. I think I’ll actually be recognized as a person right off the bat, rather than having to wait until junior year at the UCs…maybe it’s a gross misunderstanding on my part, but I do have my friends at UCs and I’m seeing how they’re coping…shrug

Me? Anxious, yes…but I really hope that I get to see each and all of you there. All 53 of you (including Jimmy, marlgirl, and celestial). <3

Aaah…such a meaningful post after a lot of fun and anxiousness. :D

scared of: having this crazy dream of mine killed, proving right all the people who said I couldn’t do it, not getting into any other good schools, SETTLING…

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

And scared of taking down my pennant and never being able to wear my Stanford sweater again. How depressing. ):

antithesis, I know exactly what you mean.

It’s weird b/c now I’m seeing more and more people wearing Stanford apparel around school. Maybe I just never noticed it before, but I see so many people wearing Stanford gear ALL THE TIME NOW!!!

I don’t wear Stanford gear. I think I already explained how I’m not going to wear it until I get accepted (thinking positive here…). Superstitious, but it should all be worth it. :)

EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD IS APPLYING TO STANFORD THIS YEAR AT MY SCHOOL. And suddenly everyone has Stanford apparel, too! ):

Think I’m one of the few SCEAers, though. Most are doing it “just for the heck of it.”

I’m baaaaaaaack…

Hahah, not really, but I just couldn’t help myself after being mentioned in those three posts. Pyleela, you just voiced everything I’m feeling right now. From the reasons why it’s a perfect fit to how I don’t want to be just a number at Berkeley to the whole superstition about wearing Stanford stuff. sigh It’s been a great three/four months that we’ve spent here on this thread.

By the way, does anyone know if it’s ridiculously difficult to check our decisions online (i.e. the server crashes) right when they come out? I don’t think I’d be able to stand it.

Oh, and does seeing people spell Stanford “Standford” annoy anyone else here?

P.S. Thanks for the online countdown script, Choboking. In all my masochism, I check it religiously every night and freak out right afterwards. lol.

antithesis: I think I’m the only SCEA-er. I swear, though, if some of those antisocial, arrogant, extremely-studious people with nonexistent ECs get in and I don’t, I’m going to…to…

I guess I’d just be sad. :D

i had the weirdest dream about stanford last night. i dreamed that i had been accepted and was running around the house shouting myself hoarse when i suddenly realized that i was completely bald. i have no idea what that means. maybe an innate fear of male pattern baldness. :D

I agree with pyleela’s earlier post…I don’t think you should wear Stanford gear until you are accepted. I know some ppl who always wear Stanford stuff, but they hav almost 0 chance at gettin in there. Lol…If i hadn’t come to CC, I would have been satisfied a lot more easily, and wouldn’t have understood the competititon I’m facing!! However, I do have the link for a stanford sweatshirt bookmarked for purhase (for the 15th at 6:15(ill need 15 minutes to go crazY))…

wow, i needa stop gettin on CC this much…my school work is killing me now…

i do find it sad that after decisions, those rejected immediately move away from the Stanford board. but who knows? those rejected may actually see each other since it seems like most EAers have the same list of colleges, aka Harvard, Princeton, … (other top 10 schools), UCs, USC, UMich.
