GPA: 3.98 UW, 4.31 W
SAT I: 800 CR, 770 W, 740 M

Gpa: 4.9 W (idk uw)
SAT I: 800M, 800CR, 760W
SAT II: 800, 780, 730, 720

“how do you figure ivys hate the act?
i dont think thats true at all”

i didnt think it was true either - until i came onto CC! the CC website itself calls the SAT the “king” for the ivies

Singaporean with A levels, no GPA, no ranking. hmm.
SAT I: 800CR, 770W, 710M
SAT II: 800 Phy, 790 Math II, and waiting for Nov Japanese results.

For some reason, I suck at SAT I Math even though I got an A for A level Math, which is harder than even SAT II Math II. I didn’t actually need to take SAT II since Yale allows for substitution with A level grades, but I picked up Japanese by myself and wanted to sorta prove it. I’m pretty confident I’ll do well for it. Who knows, it might be some kinda hook.

i hope they don’t hate the ACT! My SAT scores were significantly better than my SAT scores!

right, brune!
for me its like no comparison (i took SAT as a sophomore – scores = bad =) --, ACT as junior, and never looked back)

well, same for me! i hope i hope i hope

I hope they really do take your best between the SAT and ACT!

At the information session that I went to, the guy said that he was actually one of the people who does the preliminary scan on your application before it’s sent to the admissions committee. He said that generally they present only your best set of scores to the committee, whatever test they might be. So…

OMG why would they not take your best scores from SAT/ACT when they CLEARLY say so on their wesbsites and in their admissions sessions?? You guys might as well worry about the fact that you’re Asian and your last name is Chang because Yale already admitted two Changs right before they read your application and thus the adcoms defer/reject you merely due to the fact that they are sick of that last name. That’s a more plausible concern in my opinion.:)

omg what?!!! I am a chang!11 oh f$%# there goes my future dreams

Better question: Why would they not take your best scores when that makes THEM look better in rankings etc? Also when testing varies so much from sitting to sitting…

i dont understand why they take the best scores from different sittings for SAT and not ACT. That makes me mad lol

I wish they took the ACT + Subject Tests, like Harvard.

you dont even need to send your subject tests if you send ACT …

Yale says either SAT and three SAT II OR ACT
