In my kids’ application processes, no school ever contacted them. Rather, “we” were expected to initiate contact for their interviews. In each case, we made a phone call to the admissions offices and scheduled them over the phone.

Sometimes, the interviews were scheduled through a secretary in the admissions office. Other times, we were given the phone number or email address of the specific admissions rep who would be doing the interviews.

I say “we” because I actually made several of these calls myself while my kids were in school. At first, with my oldest, I was apologetic and embarrassed that I was making the calls, instead of my son making them himself. But I outgrew that after several admissions people told me that it was just fine and not at all unusual for parents to do the scheduling. After all, the kids are usually in school during Admissions’ office hours!

Good luck!
