oh and tulane is free to apply to! =]

Penn Temple and Drexel all have campuses in Philly. If you don’t think you can get into Columbia, you probably won’t get into Penn either (still you never know until you try!)

Temple has cheap tuition for PA residents, see if you can go ‘move in’ with a relative in PA ;)

People can be so unrealistic for admissions sometimes. You don’t have a prayer of getting into Wash U, Emory or Penn, even if you got your SAT’s up a few hundred points, which is statistically unlikely. Your GPA is still way too low and a good first semester senior year isn’t going to fix that. Second semester senior year doesn’t count for admissions. I am not trying to be mean, but I don’t think it does you any good to sugar coat it either.

You have an outside shot at Tulane, and Temple is a good suggestion for what you want. Miami (FL) is also a possibility. If you don’t mind large state schools, Arizona State in Tempe, which is a suburb of Phoenix and easily accessable with the new light rail system, is worth looking at.

How about Boston University and Boston College?

^I agree with the above though. There is virtually no shot of getting into WUSTL, Emory or Penn (if you don’t think you can get into Columbia, you probably can’t get into Penn).

BU yes, BC probably not.

LOL what? Central Park isn’t remotely close to the largest urban park in the country, and nothing in St. Louis is close either. The largest ‘urban’ park in the country is in Phoenix, and I’m pretty positive Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park is the second largest.

Yeah, in fact Forest Park in St. Louis is about 50% bigger than Central Park, but it is still way down on the list. Still the point is valid that Wash U is next to a fantastic park that contains a very large (and free!) zoo, free art museum, free botanical garden (at least they all used to be free, and I think still are), and many other attractions.

Thanks for the input. :)

woooo go philly!! :)

Goucher, Towson, American, St Josephs, Fordham

Manhattan College is also in the city-- not Manhattan, but in the Bronx. It’s private, so it’s still expensive, but on the cheaper end of private colleges. It’s less selective also, meaning you could probably get a scholarship.
