<p>I think my son is now leaning towards either computer engineering or electrical engineering (but this could totally change!), so we’re exploring those majors. For we, the parents, we are not wanting him to take on much debt; thus, we are looking at schools that provide generous need-based aid (we qualify for Cal Grant A) and/or merit aid based on his current GPA (3.93 u/w and around 4.45 w) and SAT CR & M (1420). He also just joined a FTC Robotics team (and is totally excited about that) and I’m seeing there are a few scholarships for FTC participants-hard to get, I realize, but worth a shot.</p>
<p>He may chuck it all and want to do music, but he seems very interested in those areas of engineeering at the moment.</p>

<p>Hard to know where my student would fit in. Rose-Hulman looks great on paper but it’s just not practical at all financially, so I think we need to move on and keep looking. I think he’s got a good list going. I was just hoping someone might have feedback on the financial aspect of NJIT.</p>
