Scripps vs UW

“I haven’t looked into any of anything at the UW because I’m simply not interested, so I haven’t put forth any time to research dorms, majors, grad requirements, figs, etc.”

“I just can’t stand knowing that I’m going to the same school as most of the kids in my school are. I know it’s a big school, but it’s the fact that I’m just another one of those kids. I know it sounds silly, immature, and a bit ridiculous and stupid,”

Yeah it does. You are not entitled to anything (especially 1/4 of your parents income) and you should be happy that you have two fine options. The fact that you haven’t even bothered to check on UW is pathetic. There are many ways to make a seemingly big university feel small, but of course you wouldn’t know this because you haven’t asked.

I think your parents are likely concerned with your lack of maturity and maybe fear what might happen if you are so far away from home.

Stay at home, go to your local community college, grow a little, do as well as you can and save some money. Maybe even get a job so you can learn the value of a dollar and see where your parents are coming from.
