SDSU REJECTED TRANSFERS-- Who is appealing?

<p>First of all, it never hurts to try.</p>

<p>However, I heard that this message is being sent around.</p>

<p>Thank you for your interest in San Diego State University. SDSU admission decisions are highly competitive; this year, we received more than 55,000 applications for 2,877 new transfer enrollment spaces. The California state budget does not allow for any enrollment growth in 2009 - 2010. With this very limited number of enrollment spaces for transfers, applicants were evaluated based on self-reported information provided on the SDSU supplemental application. As such, we cannot accept any admission appeals.</p>

<p>All fall 2009 transfer applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for admission and remain eligible:

  • Complete a minimum of 60 transferable semester units by the end of spring 2009.
  • Complete General Education (GE) requirements in written communication, oral communication, critical thinking, and mathematics with a “C” or higher in each course by the end of spring 2009.
  • Complete all the General Education courses by the end of spring 2009.
  • Meet the Grade Point Average (GPA) required for the major to which you apply (see SDSU Office of Admissions, GPA Requirements for the Major). Applicants must meet the required GPA at the time of application, and must maintain the GPA through the end of spring 2009.
  • Met the ranking minimum 3.30 GPA that may be higher than the major GPA.
  • Priority is given to applicants whose previous coursework was completed solely at California community colleges (CSU Enrollment Policy states that applicants from California community colleges are given priority for admission).
  • SDSU’s service area includes from institutions in San Diego County that are located south of State Route 56 and extending eastward AND Imperial Valley County. (refer to SDSU I Want to Apply for additional information on service area)</p>
