Christie would love that! As someone said above, he’d like to get into a fight with the feds about it; throwing in the ACLU would be icing on the cake. If he wins a suit, he wins. IF he loses, he wins–believe me, he’ll spin it to show how he stood up to evil, even if evil wins. And evil is whoever disagrees with him.

Ebolagate…

Ok, so what happens to this poor nurse and any others that are “quarantined”? Prisoners are treated much better than she is!

I have a funny feeling she’ll be sprung before her 21 day sentence is up.

Where’s the tent? At the airport, hospital, state pen?

Now that they’ve made this move, along with Rick Scott, the only way to save face is to fan the flames of panic and misinformation.

“On Sunday afternoon, Norman Siegel, Hickox’s attorney, told CNN that he will be filing papers in court for Hickox to have a hearing no later than five days from the start of her confinement.
Siegel, a New York lawyer and former director of the New York Civil Liberties Union, said Hickox’s quarantine is based on fear.”

You go, Mr. Siegel!

The CNN article says she is in an isolation tent inside Newark University hospital. Some other article I read said she wasn’t in the main hospital but a building next door. I’ve read so many, I can’t remember where I read that.

She said in a phone interview that she was in a tent in a building next to the hospital.

This article says, “tent within a building outside a hospital”. That sounds like a twisted quarantine version of a Taco Bell menu item.

<a href=“Quarantined Nurse Kaci Hickox Calls Her Treatment 'Inhumane', Criticizes Chris Christie | HuffPost Latest News”>HuffPost - Breaking News, U.S. and World News | HuffPost;

triple cross post!

So she’s being detained – sorry, being monitored against her will for no good reason --on the grounds of a university hospital, a place of science and knowledge and compassionate care.

For shame, Newark University.

She’s in a tent inside a building (from what I have read)

For no medically or scientifically valid reason.

The pictured “Ebola isolation tent” is a file photo. It looks too big to fit into a regular room. I wonder if they have her is some kind of warehouse?

Just saw the pics in the huff post article. A porta potty and no shower facilities. Nice.

“A building” is a vague term, since it can be heated or unheated…

On the topic of official ignorance and pandering, a committee chairman the other day repeatedly referred to Ebola as “Eboli”, evidently confusing it with e coli. The same chairman repeatedly referred to “Guyana” when he apparently meant Guinea. So comforting to know exactly how well-informed these people are, even as they presume to criticize and second-guess actual scientists, doctors, and public health officials.

Talk about through the looking glass!

I imagine she has a strong case, especially if she never develops Ebola.

I take back my criticism of the choice of Ebola czar. The experienced politician looks like a perfect choice now.

NYMom, whether she eventually develops Ebola is irrelevant. Even if she does, she has no symptoms now, which means she’s not contagious now. Just like the then-asymptomatic Dr. Spencer could not possibly have given Ebola to anyone at the bowling alley.

The article says they are pictures she took on her phone of where she is being detained.

I was just thinking, if an American traveled overseas and was forcibly held in a tent with a porta potty and no showers and no legal recourse - imagine the outrage.
