Only two contracted ebola in the States, others contracted ebola outside of the States.

Correct, OF. And no new cases reported since Amber Vinson.

I’m not a doctor . . . I just play one on TV

sorghum, the bulk of his expertise is focused on aquatic microbes and water quality, which is a very important topic, IMO, especially in the light of the recent algae bloom water scares etc. However, more recently, he seems to have a few publications sprinkled in that mention Class A pathogens etc. which indicates to me that he strategically shapes his portfolio for future DoD grant applications. I perfectly understand the move - gotta fund research somehow, and the pathogen du jour gets the money (been there, done that). I will wait for further publications on the subject from other researchers. For now, WHO guidelines call for 21 days.

I wonder how Theresa Romero will feel when she find out that those bastards killed her dog.

Ugh that makes me so sick, Consolation.

Should we be surprised?

<a href=“Family of Ebola patient seeks out legal counsel - CBS News”>http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ebola-patient-amber-vinson-hires-high-powered-attorney/

Is she planning to sue the Texas hospital? Or is this to defend herself from potential litigation? Maybe both.

Oh my! He represented Michael Vick and Larry Craig!!?? Whatever they hired him for the optics aren’t good. You put yourself in the company of creeps.

I wouldn’t want to hire anyone who rep’d Vick (don’t know much about Craig) and am sure she could have found an attorney that doesn’t have that baggage.

On an equally important note, Nina Pham’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bentley, is doing well <a href=“Workers caring for Ebola nurse's dog snap pics of animal playing - ABC7 San Francisco”>Page Not Found | abc7news.com - ABC7 San Francisco;

Oh, I bet there are multiple parties waiting to sue her! For example, the wedding shop could claim that her “Ebola touch” made the dresses unsellable, and that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Probably several attorneys wagons are circling…

Larry Craig was the conservative Idaho senator who was caught up in a Minnesota St. Paul airport bathroom sting while claiming that he just had “a wide stance”. He trotted his wife out with Jackie O dark glasses to stand my her man as he explained how he came to be playing footsie with other men under the stall.

^^^^ a comic interlude

Am glad that Nina Pham can just focus on getting well and doesn’t have to be distracted with lawsuits at this point. To say the legal process is NOT conducive to healing is a HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT!

HIMom, so true. Any stress is a huge drain of ones’s ability to stay healthy. And the stress of the looming litigation could be absolutely overwhelming! Even if Amber is kept away from the news, I think she knows the magnitude of the potential fallout.

I’m sure she knows, as a nurse that her flying and visiting the bridal shop have had financial implicatiaons that she never intended. It is a heavy burden to have while fighting for your life and health. It is not what any of us would wish on anyone, especially at this time. I am glad that Nina Pham self-quarantined and reported her fever immediately and received care and diagnosis. She certainly made contacting anyone she may possibly have infected much easier because of her careful actions.

The photos they have shown of Nina’s dog are adorable!

Hmmm. Martin is primarily a criminal defense lawyer. Is she concerned that she could be criminally charged for something she did?

Given that she is from TX, where people have been prosecuted for passing HIV (as someone linked earlier in this thread when we were discussing possible criminal charges against Mr. Duncan), I would not be surprised that she is thinking about what can be brought up against her.
