Second Ebola patient

busdriver, so you’re saying that that’s you and your hubby in the shopping cart? :)

Hmmm, this is strange…

<a href=“Amber Vinson, Dallas Nurse Infected With Ebola, Is Free Of Virus: Family | HuffPost Life”>Amber Vinson, Dallas Nurse Infected With Ebola, Is Free Of Virus: Family | HuffPost Life;

That is strange but perhaps the hospital’s PR people just don’t have official clearance to make that statement yet??

Am wondering if the fact that they have chosen to have their info released through a D.C. PR firm and that Emory and the CDC have not been permitted to comment might explain post 1941.

Yeah, and keep in mind that people have not been nearly as supportive of Vinson as they have of Pham, since many blame her for risking others by flying to Cleveland after being diagnosed.

I want to be reassured that THAT’S not contagious.

Is that off-topic?

Yes, LasMa, that’s us. But I’m wrinkled and fat one, and he’s the cute one.

I was wondering about the statement that Ambet was free and clear already. Didn’t she just get diagnosed? It has taken everyone else so much longer. Did she not actually have Ebola, or are they just CYA ing? It seems strange to be cured so much quicker than the others.

BD, you beat me to it. I wondered about that, too. Vinson was declared virus free so much sooner after starting treatment than anyone else, the spanish nurse and Pham. I kind of didn’t believe the news when I heard it first.

Maybe Amber got an experimental drug?

^good point. We didn’t hear much about how she was being treated.

I wonder if Phams boyfriend is in the clear?

Lol, busdriver. I think you’re both adorable.

Ha ha LasMa. If only I could hide under all that fur. Her vision is blurry and she’s mostly deaf (like me). And we both like a good belly rub.

I don’t know what I’d do without my dogs. I can’t imagine how sad Nina would have been if they put her dog to sleep. I just read that the Spanish nurse was just told, is upset and doesn’t understand why they killed her dog. How awful for her.

It sure is. I have cats, but same thing. I’d be devastated.

Hopefully, this is a false alarm,

<a href=“Doctor who treated Ebola patients rushed to NYC hospital”>http://nypost.com/2014/10/23/nyc-may-have-its-first-ebola-case/</a></p>

WHO has bumped up the number of reported Ebola cases to 10,000. <a href=“WHO says Ebola outbreak continues to spread in West Africa”>http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/10/23/who-ebola-update/17767789/</a> Reported cases, yikes!

Hopefully, iglooo. It should be noted that this is a doctor who recently returned from the hot zone. It’s not someone who flew on Nurse Vinson’s plane, or eluded airport screening.

A traveler from the affected area. Let’s wait until it is confirmed. I thought health care workers were quarantined for 21 days before retiring. Guess not.

Yes, he traveled, but multiple stories say that he is a doctor. Several, including WSJ, state that he was treating ebola patients.

^ CNN reports that he works with Doctors Without Borders and was working with Ebola patients in West Africa.
