Phillips Academy Andover - Second Round Applicants?

Hi! This is my very first post on CC I’m a current 8th grader in a competitive NYC public school. I was planning on applying to PA last semester (by the original deadline of Feb 1st), but then a huge accident happened to one of my family members and it wasn’t the best time for my family to send me off to boarding school - so I sadly withdrew my application. However, my family seems relatively stable and they say they have reconsidered applying to boarding schools. So I decided that I would apply next year as a non-repeating 10th grader and called the admissions officers for more info - only to be informed that there was actually a second round of applications that I could go through! I’m very new to this whole “second round” application process, so although I contacted the admissions offices again about general info, I was wondering if you could answer some of these questions : Is the second round process a regular thing for Andover?
