They run pretty true to size; I wear a 14 and the Large jacket fits pretty well, as long as you’re not wearing something really bulky underneath. (Bunsenburner, didn’t notice the logo on the sleeves! I’ll have to look. Besides, the sleeves on the jacket are removable.) I haven’t put a lot of stuff in it yet, but they say it’ll hold an iPad.

I agree about the price, though - I also hate paying full price, but what’re you gonna do? The nice thing about the jacket v. the pants are 1) the jacket can go with lots of outfits, even if I change pants; and 2) you don’t have to empty out the pockets of the jacket at security like you do for pants (just take it off and put it in the bin), and a thief could watch you emptying stuff out of your pants & exactly where you put it back in.

I also went to zappos.com and found several nice Pacsafe bags at reasonable prices. I love the fact that Zappos doesn’t charge shipping either way. (Found the same bags on other sites for less, but add in shipping and they were about $10 more!)

I know I’m being paranoid, but just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you, right?

I don’t feel that taking reasonable precautions is being paranoid. In this day and age, it seems like the sensible approach. I think I want a waterproof or at least water resistant jacket that has a hood. Have been looking around at various discount jackets & hope to settle on something I really like (though tough to KNOW without being able to try them on).

I have read that folks have NOT been required to remove security pouches when going through airline security, so that should be fine. Thanks for the sizing tip. I have a really tough time figuring out my size, since women’s brands are so strange as to how they run. In Columbia Sportswear, I wear a small. In some of the cheaper brands, I wear a medium or large. It’s pretty maddening! Wish they had more standard sizing for women.

At Ann Taylor, I often wear a 4, but at other stores, I’m a medium or large. What size does that make me? Heck if I know!

BunsenBurner, I checked the sleeves on my ScottEVest jacket, and there are no logos. There’s a very small logo on the back right near the collar, which many women’s hair could cover.

Chedva - I’m sorry I was looking at the men’s jacket! The picture that I saw clearly had logos on the bottom of the sleves, and I thought that it was a rather odd place for logo display. Here it is:

OK…some of you may find this offensive…put your passport inside a Tampax box and put that in your purse! Should keep the passport from being taken…unless they take the whole purse!

Thumper, Good idea, but why take even more stuff than necessary–you or someone travelling with you might forget & accidentally toss the box along the trip, too? Irritating that they put labels on a jacket one buys to be discrete! Glad the women’s jacket isn’t a billboard like the men’s one!

For us, we’re sticking with the cloth waist security pouch worn under our clothing (for me & D). H & S will use the belt loop security pouch that is worn under their slacks.
