Sedona or Santa Fe? Recommendations, please

Hi jym… Actually, re your Bermuda question, funny you should ask. We JUST went there the first of this month, mainly because we saw some ridiculously cheap airfares from Atlanta and had never been. Since H had so few days off, it was a quick flight from there and fit our needs perfectly, and I’m into going places on my birthday rather than staying home and getting presents. We’ve been to several spots in the Caribbean but never went to the closest place!

Although we only had 4 days, 3 nights, we felt like we got to know the place. And really enjoyed it. Although we stayed at a place right on the beach (and did spend one day lounging on it), mostly we went and explored the island. If you’ve never been, it’s an interesting place to check out. Since it’s still a British colony, we were lucky to be there when the Queen’s Jubilee was going on. They LOVE the Queen and there were many celebrations indeed taking place throughout the island. Definitely recommend although it’s WAY different than Sedona/Santa Fe. Absolutely breathtaking water views which you certainly won’t see out West! Nice choices, all the way around.

Do be prepared for the sticker shock of hotels and food. All you read about that is true.

Hi curiouser!
Where’d you find the deals to Bermuda? When the fares to Phoenix started to climb, I looked around and saw the fares to Bermuda. I’ve never been, but have always wanted to go. My parents honeymooned there (though in December- they must have been cold). YOu were so lucky to be there during the jubilee! I think they are now celebrating her birthday, which was back in April!

I am also looking at two places I’ve been told about, Blackberry farm in Tennesssee [Blackberry Farm | The Inn at Blackberry Farm | History](Blackberry Farm | History of Blackberry Farm | Blackberry Farm | The Inn at Blackberry Farm) and Greystone Inn, in NC [Luxury Lake North Carolina Resort | The Greystone Inn](http://www.greystoneinn.com/) . Have you been to either?

I know I am all over the place with this. ITs my birthday and I cant decide where to go. Oh, and we’ve now also been incited to spend the weekend with friends at their condo in the Destin area.

Regarding Parent1986’s tour boat question, I was thinking of the daily tour boats rather than them renting their own boat:

It’s your birthday, so what type of trip do you want?

Hiking, sightseeing in Sedona, maybe a spa, art galleries…

Sante Fe, never been, also art galleries, jewlery shopping, etc…

Bermuda: Gets my vote! Breathtaking pink sand beaches…really gorgeous…expensive, but you’re only going for a few days!..summer best time to go…no kids…
Water, Beaches, motor scooters, nightlife, shopping, etc…no need to look any further!
Imho, of course :D

I get emails from Airfare Watchdog and suddenly saw RT to Bermuda from Atlanta at around $300…a real bargain, I thought. I bought the tickets in early May for an end of May and into June trip. I don’t believe these airfares are being offered currently.

My husband could only get away a few days and it was my birthday too
Since it was a pretty short flight, even with only 4 days/3 nights, we felt we were able to do enough to get a real sense of the place. It IS expensive, but as another poster mentioned, if you’re only there a few days, it doesn’t add up as much.

When I booked the flight (via click-thru links) on Airfare Watchdog, I ended up on Orbitz who offered a hotel package with it. We opted for the package even though I’ve rarely booked vacations via a “package”. It all worked out great for us.

Hard to go wrong with Bermuda. However, I will say, if your trip will be very short, the chances of rainy weather would have an impact, for sure. We were lucky in that only one evening were there any showers. The week before we went, it rained almost every day there. So if you’re doing this soon and can look at a 10 day forecast, I’d recommend it!

Been to both for long weekends. Santa Fe hands down. If you like the food.

I haven’t been to Santa Fe, loved Sedona, but I vote for Bermuda. My H and I went for a few days several years ago and we loved it. The island is beautiful with wonderful beaches, upscale shopping and great dining. We stayed at the Elbow Beach Club which has a wonderful beach but has gotten very expensive. I know people who have enjoyed the Southampton Princess and Ariel Sands also.

Sedona is beautiful also, but is more outdoorsy and laid back. We went last July and it was too hot to hike in the afternoon. We did the Pink Jeep tour which was lots of fun. We then spent a night at the Grand Canyon which was crowded but still great.

curiouser-
Can I ask-- what is considered a good aairfare from Atl to Bermuda?

*** oops I just saw you said around $300. Its still higher than that right now. Like around $424
