I was added to a Scentsy group on Facebook…I removed myself from it. The person who invited me was someone I hadn’t seen in years…
“When my kids were younger, the separation between SAHM’s and working moms was intense. I had NO friends who did not work at least part-time until my youngest son was in K (a decade after the oldest). I guess that’s why I wasn’t invited, or maybe people just know I am cheap.”
That’s me. Working full-time saved me from a lot of this stuff that was more common among the SAHM set. And when I was invited, I just declined.
What surprised me was that many of the women I knew who got involved in MLM gigs were very well off and didn’t need the money. If you’re bored, go do some volunteer work. If you are looking to socialize, just throw a party.
I really despise these MLM schemes. Stuff tends to be overpriced. Don’t prey on your friends and family as clients. It’s not like I or others go on social media and go to gatherings and shill and tout our employer’s products.
I do have one extended family member that is raking it in financially being in one of the higher tiers for a MLM company after just a few years. She’s really good at connecting with people and curating a lifestyle that she uses to help sell products and create a downstream network. Making lots of $$$.
