Senator Walsh

Fake outrage. She said something stupid. So what. If you ever have spoken to a politician you would realize that they aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer.

No, the outrage is not fake. Stupid politicians have the power to make stupid laws that negatively impact citizens.

^^^^THIS.

We have spent more than usual amount of time in hospitals, and while some nurses are better than others (like other professions) I have never, ever, met any that were anything other than the hardest working people I’d ever met. It’s an incredibly offensive comment.

Like people who want to dismantle teaching, I suggest the WA legislators might want to spend some time shadowing nurses, to better inform their decisions.

Thank you for your support. I spent the day at work . The unit card game was cancelled , too many admissions. I was really looking forward to it too.
The memes have been funny. However, it really is upsetting how people legislate without doing homework. although this is not unusual.
She should shadow a nurse
I wish I was more articulate, I am really tired.

As the mother of a future nurse (going into the second year of a BSN, and first year of clinicals) what she said is ridiculous.

If she only knew how hard these kids study in school in order to save people’s lives, and how hard nurses work every day - usually a 12 hour shift, sometimes mandatory OT, never enough sleep. I’m already a bit worried about job burnout, and my daughter hasn’t even stepped onto the floor yet.

This politician better hope she doesn’t end up in the hospital soon, lol.

I have had the great good fortune to work with nurses throughout my career and count several nurses among my dearest friends. Most recently I have been working closely with 3 dedicated nurses in a clinical setting. They are some of the finest people I have ever known. Relentlessly dedicated to advocacy for their patients. I see these women daily take on the red tape of the insurance industry to fulfill their patients medical needs. To a one they are kind and smart and have amazing generosity of spirit. I cannot say enough good things about the nurses I know.
@downtoearth Thank you for what you do. There are people who appreciate you and value your work!

I am also very impressed with all the nice see I know. They work very hard and do a great job!

I share office space with 2 psychiatric NPs. Boy, has FB been lit up with responses to her statement.

My nurse friends have been gifting decks of cards to their colleagues. Great boon for the playing card industry.

I cant believe this woman can vote on legislation when he has no idea what we do

Says every teacher in American whenever Betsy DeVos opens her mouth.

For some jobs, getting the job is more about sales skills than (other) job-applicable skills and knowledge. Elected jobs are examples of such jobs.
