All college Admissions office’s request that students self-report AP scores on the Common Application because the College Board automatically sends an Official AP Score Report directly to a college’s register’s office. The registrar’s office does NOT forward those scores to Admissions – instead they hold the scores until you matriculate to be added to your academic record. The College Board will not send an Official AP Score to a college’s admissions office, so it’s a complete waste of your money to send an Official AP score report to any college for the purposes of Admissions, as Admissions won’t receive those scores.
