<p>This question comes up all over CC; here’s my take:</p>
<ol>
<li>If the info wasn’t important they wouldn’t ask.</li>
<li>Your first semester grades are what they are, not much point in worrying now.</li>
<li>Your grades haven’t deteriorated, so there’s even less reason to worry.</li>
<li>If you think they ask mid-year grades to “keep you in check” you might not be as ready for college as you think.</li>
<li>You’ve worked hard for 3 years to put yourself in position to be accepted at USC, don’t give them an excuse to have second thoughts about you; play until you hear the whistle, (all your admissions letters), succumbing to senioritis before that is just idiotic.</li>
