<p>I’m not exactly sure about the grades not counting. If they’re asking you for your midyear report, this means they’re unsure about you. It means your application is borderline good, but they want to see if you improved. If you did poorly, I.e. get a C/D/F, there is a high chance that your admissions officer will lean towards rejection. I would take these seriously.</p>
