september '07 act

does anyone remember what letter [austin, lower g] was? I remember putting down B.

Dankstarbursts the answer to 59 was def. 1/3. All you needed to do was figure out sin cos and tan because the inverses contain the same sign. Sin is always positive. Cos is positive and negative , and tan is also positive and negative. Since sin and tan both contain 1, you multiply by two for the total number 4 and divide by 12 1/3, exactly what you put. Sorry if it was obvious, i don’t not intend to be condescending

59 was 2/3, adrenaline. I think you misunderstood the problem, though, because I can’t understand what you’re talking about. We’re only in the second quadrant. It was 90<x<180. Sin is positive, cosine is negative, tangent is negative. So, csc is positive, sec is negative, cotangent is negatve. 2/3 of the trig functions give negative values.

Yeah, adrenalinefix36, the question concerned the second quadrant. amb3r is right. 2/3

yeah when i put like tan of 130 on my clac, the answr was positive…should be negative though i think
A/S/T/C

so was the sci question jacksonville or austin…i’m lost. what was the question?

I found the Math test fairly easy, but had to guess on the log problem. I put 12, because I figured that sounded like a good enough answer. Does anyone remember which problem I’m talking about and the correct answer? I’d also like to know how to work these for the future. Thank you.

^^Uh…no. lol I remember a log problem, but I don’t remember what it was exactly.

does anyone know if its okay for the proctor to write the starting times on the board for each test?? cuz i took the test in moline instead of iowa city cuz they dont have it in iowa in september and the proctor there got all PMS at me for asking her and she said it was against the rules???!!!

yeah answer was 2/3… haha it was not 1/3

my proctor had the “5 minutes before ending time” and the “ending time” listed on the board…did you at least have a clock or did she tell you?

we had a clock :D

dude…I put Austin too…which was B. I thought I got it wrong because everyone was saying Jacksonville.

I do not remember what i put down…

Whoops there goes the 36. Atleast i can attribute the mistake in reading the question to unbearable bathroom problems. Essentially, i had to wait over 2 hours while really having to go to the restroom. Even after i went i was suffering; kinda pathetic really. I couldn’t focus throughout the test.

i think i put like 3 for the log problem. All it was was a direct substiution

^^That sucks.

I feel ya bro…I had to go to the bathroom too and I was like dude…when are they giving us a break after the English section. Sucks that I had to hold it through the Math! haha

we had a clock, cept at one point i looked at it and the second hand didnt move at all… so that was a little off… lol

Hey uh guys, air resistance acts in the opposite direction to the motion of the object itself…thus on that science question, BOTH air resistance AND buoyancy act UPWARDS.

This test made me so happy that I decided to take Physics this semester…even if it just started last month…
