***SEPTEMBER 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

I’m guessing I’ll pull about a 26 on this test, thanks to the generous math curve. I felt pretty confident on the first 30 but the last 30 got progressively harder and then I just had to completely guess on the last 15. Oops. I feel awesome on English but that’s just because English has always been my strong point…and I feel pretty average on reading/math. (73D)

And I just want to address something…

I need at least a 27 to get into the school I want (or at least have a shot). So I definitely feel a little stupid here when people are complaining about getting 35s. I just wanna say, be grateful for the score you got and be proud of yourself that you’re even trying. Lots of people get a score they don’t want and then don’t even take the test a second time and give up their dreams of a certain college or a scholarship. We should all be proud of ourselves no matter what score we get because WE KEEP TRYING. And if you don’t get into your dream school, you’ll be alright. But don’t stop dreaming. :slight_smile:

The only section I’m worried about is math. There were two questions at the end of the section that I’m not positive that I did correctly, but I think I figured them both out. Other than that I’m pretty sure I nailed the other three sections. I really enjoyed the ornithology and Star Wars passages in the English section. Unless I made some stupid mistakes over the course of the test, I’m going to predict a 35-36.

The math was the only section that was slightly difficult. Hopefully lenient curve

Math was definitely the toughest for me, I’m hoping the curve will help me out. Reading and Writing were easy, but then if they were too easy then the curve might be a little harder? Science was fine, and Writing Test was good because the prompt was interesting. I was hoping for 35, now I’m guessing 35 W / 34 R / 35 S / 31 M :frowning: Gonna be a few points short of the magic 138 total (for 35)

I heard the June ACT and April ACT were both relatively easier than the Sept one. What were the curve scales on those tests

I took the June Act and I believe 10 wrong on the math was around a 29-30

I got a 27 composite in June…

28 Writing, 27 Math, 29 Reading, 25 Science.

Praying I did better. :frowning: Hoping for at least a 28.

could someone help me predict my score? i thought the english was similar to practice tests, the math was hard for an act test, science and reading were okay. I had maybe 1/2 minutes to spare for both of those sections but I guessed on 1-2 questions on the science passage.

english: -4/5
math: -2/3
reading: -3/4
science: -3

What will 7-9 wrong on the math be?

Who else signed up for the October ACT? I wish I planned better for this because I am a senior, and I am not sure if the October one will suffice for college app deadlines.

@beanie1265

English: 33
Math: 35 (Generous Curve)
Reading: 34
Science: 33
C: 34

@sgallagher23

30-32 (Depending on the curve… I’m predicting a generous curve so maybe 31.)

Will I be able to use October ACT scores while applying ED? Or is that too late.

@maaz97 it will probably be too late. The scores wont be out until November 3rd or 4th at the earliest and then it takes a couple of weeks to send them.

@maaz97 or… Maybe you could check your school’s ED testing deadlines?

if anyone has any questions about the June curve feel free to ask…I have the TIR

@basedchem @sgallagher23 I just checked. It looks like a bunch of colleges (Cornell, Dartmouth) accept the October ACT while applying ED :smiley:

Would you guys agree that the curve for this one will be more lenient than the ones in May and June?

Also, would -1 in Reading be 36 still? I’d be pretty bummed out if it wasn’t :slight_smile:

@collgefreak can you post the curve for the June test?

Can anyone calculate my composite. I am trying to do worst case scenario.

E: -6
M: -5
R: -4
S: -3
