I got a 35. For some STUPID reason. I changed the “Most of the baby corn stalks blah blah blah ARE” to “IS” Most IS. Im 96% confident that is the ONLY english question I got wrong. What do you think is -1 is, a 35? Dont think it was that hard that -1 is 36.

Also, for the last question in the movie passage where it asked which choice most effectively elaborates on the sentence with “stamp of approval, authorship,” Was the correct answer choice the one that said it’s the "Cinematic equivalent of an artist’s signature? Choice H or C? That was one of the few that made me think.

The other one was something like “Which choice best demostrates the Authors High regard for handmade lace” and i put the Choice that said something like “made them less exquisite.” Because it would show the author prefers handmade lace over machine made lace.

Still ****ed over the “most is/are” question.,… ■■■

The only one I wasn’t sure about was in the Hitchcock passage. It said something like his cameos were “short and unspoken” in the passage and I selected the answer that was something like “brief and often silent”. The word “unspoken” just didn’t sound right to me. Anyone remember this question?

I do, i put “brief and usually silent.” That’s much more smooth and clear than “short and often unspoken.”

Yes it was usually silent beause a cameo cannot be unspoken. ALSO, it is Most is. for instance, most of corn is good. that makes sense. most of corn are good sounds awful.

But if the question asked about corn stalks, then the answer would be “are,” would it not? Hey, I got it wrong too, then; I thought it just asked for corn itself.

I am so STUPID! I was pretty sure I had a 36 for English then WHAT DO I DO? I erase a right answer, second-guess myself and then decide that the answer is right after all, but then in like the five seconds before the proctor called time, bubbled in C instead of B. AHHH!!!

@ accordingtome - Agree on “signature,” but disagree on “unspoken/silent.” That doesn’t make sense. How could ACT expect you to know about cameo appearances ahead of time?

I went with “short and often unspoken,” as did some other CCers. IMO, neither is more concise than the other, and “silent” seems too strong an adjective. It mentioned him struggling to carry musical instruments and walking poodles. Neither of these seem like “silent” activities.

the artist’s signature answer was wrong. The question specifically said “which one of these reflects the fact that the author wants to exemplify the HARD DEVOTED WORK of the knitters” or whatever so the answer should have been the one with the hard work mention in it.

I put “brief and silent” because I thought it would be weird to say “unspoken cameo”, since unspoken means not expressed in words, as in “unspoken resentment” or “unspoken assumption”.
